...and campaigning on restoring America by passing a 1 trillion dollar infrastructure bill. The Dems need to be focused on the what they've successfully passed and pushing the abortion issue at every turn. Let the people know that this radical Supreme Court is just getting started when it comes to stripping your rights away, that the party of small government wants to tell you what to read and how to live. A unified message from every single Dem on these issues would go a long way. Fight for unions and cancel some student debt and fly Joe Biden's ass around the country hammering that home.

Democrat means always on the defensive.
They always trying to stop this that or another.
    meanwhile
Republicans are telling their base. . . . Give us Votes and we will give you this that and the other.

Everytime they win and give their base some red meat. . ..they get more ravenous
    and
    The democrats get more depressed

Explain how the Republicans get everything they want with 51 votes? They get legislation filibustered too when they are in power. That isn't how Congress works. The filibuster works both ways. Most Repulbican priorities never get passed because of it.

Megachurches, segregation / Christian academies and flyover politicians and school boards managed to cultivate gen-X and millennial opponents to abortion over the last half century, particularly in the ranks of white women; 55% of whom voted for Trump. Somehow the afterwork of very special episodes and social stigmatizing that happened to overt racism, substance and domestic violence went in the opposite direction on Roe, in terms of entertainment media reviving family sitcoms and unofficially banning any mention of the procedure outright.

    Bullshit.

But then you just want to see everything burn and then stand back and point fingers.

It's your way or the highway.

Republicans could not get everything they wanted when they did have 51 votes, it's the rhetoric like this that just drives me bonkers.

Trump could not get a lot of stuff he wanted to be done when Republicans had both houses 1 big example was the Wall
Republicans actually got less stuff done than Biden in the 1st 2 years.

So now I guess we just ignore everything that Biden and Democrats have actually done?

Harvard Poll: 72 Percent Support 15-Week Limit on Abortions

A poll conducted after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade found that 72 percent of Americans would allow abortion only until the 15th week of pregnancy. That transcends party affiliation. Even 60 percent of Democrats believe abortion should be prohibited after the 15th week.

That is also consistent with most other countries. Internationally, only seven countries allow abortion after the 20th week.

Notably, 75 percent of women support the 15-week cut-off while 69 percent of men also agree with that timeline.

The poll also shows that 44 percent of voters believe that state legislatures should have the power to determine abortion standards while 25 percent believe Supreme Court justices should decide the issue. Another 31 percent believe that Congress should pass national abortion laws.

I think 3 and a half months is very fair for elective abortions as in the type of abortion women chose when they feel as if their life isn't ready for raising a child.

But obviously there should still be an exception for when the woman's life is at risk.

Okay so lets look at this:

"Nearly three quarters of Americans believe the Supreme Court is wrong and women should have unfettered access to abortions for the first four months of pregnancy"

"Only one in four Americans believe that the Supreme Court should decide abortion rights"

That makes sense though, the recent polling shows that only 25% of Americans have confidence in the SCOTUS.

That is the lowest confidence rate in the history of accurate polling......... Good job, sounds like they are doing a bang up job.

The Supreme court did not rule to make abortion illegal. They ruled to return the issue to the 50 states. Each of the states are now responsible for passing laws on this that are responsive to the expectations of their elected representatives, who the voters can replace with others more to their liking if they get this or other matters wrong.

That's not what the poll found. Inserting the word "only" is pretty misleading.

I personally don't believe states rights and humans rights should mingle. Human rights should be a nation wide standard. When I think of "states rights" I think of the ability to allocate resources and funding because they know their state better than the fed government.

But that doesn't make sense with basic rights. It doesn't make sense for example one state allowing interracial marriage and another state not.

Human rights should be standard throughout the nation.

They couldn't even get rid of Obamacare. They couldn't build the wall. They couldn't deport the illegal immigrants living in the United States. They had a majority from 2015 to 2021. 2015 to 2019, the GOP held the house as well. 2017 to 2019, they had both houses of Congress, the Presidency, and a sympathetic supreme court. Do you think they got everything they wanted?
This is the complete opposite of reality. The progressives (largely embodied in the Democratic Party) are the ones constantly trying to do more and more things. More money sent out. Student loan forgiveness. Green new deal. Build back better. Raise taxes on people that make more money. Raise taxes on investments. Raise taxes on inheritance. Tax unrealized gains. More gun control. More government in general. Their opponents are the ones that are trying to stop things. No more taxes. No more gun control. No more regulations. No more spending. Look at the list of what they were trying and failing to accomplish I listed above. Build the wall and enforce existing immigration laws and get rid of Obamacare, in other words, undo a couple of the changes made by the Democrats. What country have you been living in where it is the Democrats that are pushing for the status quo?
