I hope Tari can take a firm hold on the starting 3 spot and not look back. Sort of like Parsons did in his first summer league.
https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nba...ue-thunder-grizzlies/t4nxoi24mnxbjuoblqcq9f8p He will struggle based on his very weak frame. He needs some of that plentiful body fat that Garuba is carrying!!!
Whilst summer league ultimately means nothing, the Rockets are going to be fielding 5 1st round picks, all of them with no more than 1 year of experience, so I certainly hope the team is at least very competitive.
Looking forward to Jabari lighting it up tonight. With Nix and Josh running the show he should get plenty of open looks. Want to see Garuba the Clamp God. Sprinkle in some Eason 3&D and TyTy reminding everyone why he was a lottery type prospect. Maybe even Hudgins gets to show out a little? Mainly I hope they look organized as a unit and play smart.
I agree with everything you posted. Just to add though, I wouldn't mind a Josh Cristopher summer league explosion. I feel like I'm alone because everyone just sees him as a backup, but I think he could have one of the stronger careers of all of our youngster. Great steal for me.
Josh is really good. He should shine in Summer League. Somewhat of a tweener guard for me - not a great distributor or scorer, but good enough to be an integral part of a rotation and with some improvement in those departments could find himself as a starter depending on what happens with the team in the future. I could see some guys traded with the glut we have at the position. If Josh doesnt get the chance to be a starter here he could be a guy who creates a market for himself with his play. Same for Scoot I could see him being used as an asset in order to free up playing time for Josh if JC becomes the better player as the rebuild reaches its final stages.
I can’t wait to see Jabari stoke some open threes. He has a nice shot and form. Hopefully he lets his teammates set him up more than initiating. With that high releae and height, I want him stroking it like Ryno used to
Personally, I'm wondering whether Eron Gordon will be good enough to join his big brother Eric on the Rockets roster. The duo of EGO and ERGO would be unstoppable.
our summer league team could be the best SL team of all time? anyone have any other rosters that compare? we are absolutely stacked man. never been this excited for a summer league game lol
I'm not sure if this is sarcasm, but...Eron averaged 3.2ppg last year. He shot 37.4% from the field. He's a courtesy invite...nothing more.
Paolo will have his hands full tonight - he will be guarded by either Jabari, Tari or Usman all game long - three of the best big defenders or the last two drafts.
