Democrats have compromised themselves out of their own space.
They appear more and more republican light because they have been dragged to that side

I agree, but it doesn't mean they have to stay there, put AOC in charge watch it change...and watch the young voters join in.

That is INDEED WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

They have the ideal that Republicans doing WTF they want will look like
Divergent/Hunger Games/Maze Runner/HandMaids Tale/ (Insert fictional world of white oppessed people)
and then THE ONE will rise up and FREEDOM will come
They focus on those protagonist but never consider what the rest of that world looks like

They think they withstand and resist those days . . ..
They think they can go through that trash decades to get to the Utopia
With the work being done by THE ONE and their raggedy band of gutsy heros

    I am depressed about voting
I have major concerns about voting for the same MFers who are doing less than I expect

The Democrats are not loud enough bold enough not ready for the FIGHT
While you can be disgusted by these people's disillusionment . . but they are who you HAVE to get to the polls
As disgusted as you feel about them
    They feel about the Democrats

As much as you think they need to grow up and vote and get active
Well . .you too need to grow up and GO GET THEM

Right now. . . we in our moment of depression . . .
but tomorrow. . . gotta get back in those streets

You KNOW how I feel about the democrats and voting
I will vote . . .but it is the hold your nose type of vote

    or not
    1 or 0

They also worry that they may go TOO FAR

It's insane to me how quickly my generation turned on the Dems, though I'm not surprised. The Left would rather cut its nose and claim they're the most oppressed party than elect anyone or pass a bill

Who is your generation and why do you feel your generation is obligated to support your team?

Gen Z and Millennials are distrustful of the establishment/institution.

Democrats and Republicans have become complete crap.

    Millenial, borderline Gen Z.

I agree both parties are crap, but the things young people (broadly speaking, those 18-35) seem to want are incoherent and inconsistent. The only group of young people in politics that seem organized are young Republicans.

Both parties suck, but my generation refuses to vote and then complains when nothing gets done. They go to protests so they can post on Instagram, but they don't want to volunteer or do anything they can't make about themselves in some way.

I do find it funny though that of the people I know here, lesbians are the most vocal advocates for Roe. Most of the straight women I know don't seem to care one way or the other. But it's also a small college town so who knows how representative that is.

Democratic voters questioning their elected officials is a GOOD thing. It shows that we are not a cult like some people obviously are in.

Yes… even I get concerned about the Biden admins ability to meet the moment and the challenges. Politics should not be a religion. They get elected to do a job. They don’t do the job, they get replaced… Democracy.

But you know what that doesn’t mean… this does NOT mean that people like me are going to wake up tomorrow and say “you know what.. that Trump guy wasn’t so bad after all. Maybe we should give him another shot.”

So stop reading the liberal doom scrolling tabloids and thinking this is a moment to high five your proud boy buds. It actually means the opposite. That we aren’t growing complacent and not just gonna stay home and become deactivated and let you guys just walk in dumb and corrupt GOP candidates.

Quite the opposite in suburban Texas. I know a ton of suburban moms that have hard core Trumpy husbands that are royally pissed about Roe and especially Texas being on the most hardcore end of it. I think this mostly hits that mom because they’ve been through child labor or a C section or a miscarriage. All of them have had at least one scare during pregnancy. So that experience informs them of the need to make your own moral decisions if heaven forbid something goes wrong especially early on before the 2nd trimester.

So yeah I can see why on a college town, the younger straight girls wouldn’t care YET about Roe (although when things trickle down and get real, that could change) but in those voting districts that really matter in the suburbs of cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, SA, etc. here in Texas at least, the Roe decision could severely haunt the GOP.

I think had Texas had a a reasonable law come into place that put some limits on abortion but still gave exceptions and reasonable time frames to act when you find out, these women would have still been reliable to vote blue in an election like 2022. Now… the GOP overreach will potentially kill their chances of winning an election they should be dominating.

He and the dems in general are ineffective. The republicans always do more with less votes because they know they have to.

I agree, we should be calling out Biden, he needs to get some things done, but he`s also done some good things and some of the BS that comes from the right is just to much, now dems are apparently the KKK in political ads. While I may not be 100% happy with Biden, I wont all of a sudden go switch and vote for trump backed candidate, we put someone else in charge and move on. If we lose then so be it, if people don't get out and vote like there lives depend on it then they can live with the consequences and I hope people are ready to start giving into things that they have been accustomed to. Don't be shocked when the gop far right wants your day after pill, make gay marriage illegal and then go after things like interracial marriages. The far right wants us to go back to 1950 when the woman stayed home in the kitchen and made babies and had no rights.......hey if thats what you want then don't vote, but don't complain either.

It's astonishing how deep the hatred is, I have no problem with most of the criticism but when they tried to paint Biden as a rapist and a predator I knew they were off the rails.

Yeah, it seems they would rather b**** and moan than actually do the work like Republicans to take over the party with the people they want.

It's the entitlement that really grinds my gears it's like they expect every Democrat to want the same thing they do and when somebody pushes back they are a party w****.

    when you've lost the American Prospect . . .

President Biden Is Not Cutting the Mustard
Young people are abandoning him in droves because he won’t fight for their rights and freedom.

    https://prospect.org/politics/president-biden-is-not-cutting-the-mustard/

    excerpt:

With this perspective, a lot about how Biden behaves swims into focus. When he cares a lot about something, like getting out of Afghanistan, he can be determined and even endure tremendous pressure. But when he doesn’t—like on student debt forgiveness, facing up to what the Supreme Court has become, or evidently protecting the right to choose—he dithers and procrastinates even when it causes him great political harm. And because the president is the only one who can decide on priorities or pick between competing options, the White House ends up riven with indecision and squabbling.

It is NOT CLOSE to equal.

    Democrats want universal healthcare
Democrats want equal taxation from corporations and the rich
    Democrats want gun controls
Democrats want the freedom to choose for their own bodies

Republicans are against all of that......it is not equal.

I think the last truth - that change takes time - is victim to an age where everything is available immediately and there is almost always an option that fits the need perfectly. There is definitely a strain of liberal voters who demand candidates that match their political desires exactly, and lose enthusiasm (ie don’t vote) once it becomes clear the latest batch of contenders will fall short.

But again, Biden and his team need to understand that these voters need to be engaged and frequently. He has (or should have) a whole team that can help him do this, but if he lacks the sense of urgency (as the article suggests is the case), he’s not going to be a particularly good messenger.
