The bully clique of insecure gatekeepers here say that you should hate Paolo, but love Chet when neither are on the MF team!! LMAO!
You had posters like Jiggylie and Verbal Christ lying about Chet, putting him down at every turn over the last year. Just because they liked Paolo. Then they try to act like a victim when you call them out for it. It’s all there in black and white.
Nah he is ready to scrap. He is straight thug from the Minnesota mountains. Not sure what it is, but he gets respect from bigger guys, I think it is because he is mentally ill.
And yet, I wasn't talking about either of those two people. Would you like to re-read this thread and see the nutjobs attacking people who then say "I never said that, you're arguing with the wrong people" basically, then the instigator ignores it and doubles down on their original argument and just look like a crazy person. FYI, it's the people going all crazy over an OKC player and trying to cause arguments on a Rockets forum who look pathetic and lame. Just a thought.
Seriously can't wait. I'm really pumped to see our guys and see how they mesh with some of the other pieces from last year. Fun times!
I was Paolo fan #1 no shame on my side. Since the draft I've rarely brought the kid up. Moved on to trying to figure out a path with Jabari and the actual players on this team. What I wont do is spend most of a season trashing and making fun of our very own #1 pick while sulking and **** munching a player from another franchise. Too many fake ass fans around here.
The difference is that Ivey can get around the corner quicker than just about anyone in the NBA now. There are maybe 2-3 players that can do that. Also Ivey was in a really bad situation as far as spacing is concerned, he had massive guys clogging the lane and almost no good outside shooting to open the lane. Ivey also didn't really get to show his passing because their second best guard was a point guard, and they had an exceptional passer from the post. Also Ivey has exceptional body control and deceleration. Those tend to transfer well to the NBA. He needs to be consistent shooting and show he can handle the ball some, but the skills he has are excellent.
Yeah, but you said a lot of things about Ivey there and nothing about Mathurin. The 2nd/3rd most played minutes on Arizona were also bigs. The 4th most - a guard on both teams - on Arizona was a 33% 3 point shooter then Terry a 36% 3 point shooter for a combined 108 makes. Purdue's 4th/5th most minutes guys were a 38% 3pt shooter and a 44% 3pt shooter for a combined 121 makes. Ivey's 28.7% usage rate was higher than Mathurin's 25.1%. Ivey is the better passer barely imo, but I'm in no way sold he's a "great" playmaker yet anymore than Mathurin is. This is less a crap on Ivey post and more a Mathurin could be underrated post. I kind of think he is a bit slept on, other than by the Pacers who took him one selection after Ivey. He's a legit 6'6, his athleticism might not be quite as high as Ja, JG or Ivey but its awfully close. The Ivey<>Mathurin comparison to me will ultimately come down to whether Ivey can create a lot more off the dribble that he wasn't able to show in college. Mathurin is more of a pure scorer... almost a JG mold type guy. If Ivey can really create, he's got it. If not, I could envision a scenario where Cade/Mathurin would have been better than Cade/Ivey.
The spacing at Arizona was certainly better than it was at Purdue, where it was terrible. I never said that Ivey is a great playmaker. I think that he is adequate at this point as a combo guard. Ivey is at least one level above Mathurin as an athlete, and his body control and ability to stop is as well. Mathurin may well end up a better pro, he is more skilled IMO, but he doesn't have the upside Ivey has. Also, the track record of guys with the quickness/explosiveness of Ivey figuring it out is pretty high because their quickness gives them such a large margin for error. Having said that, I don't think you position that you believe Mathurin will be better or as good as Ivey is unreasonable.
but you have your CF tracking chart, right? maybe a spreadsheet... i mean im getting the impression folks are tracking everybody else's takes - so they can pounce at a later date for someone having the audacity to go on an internet chat board and just spout thoughts and opinions - and be wrong! I mean, really the nerve... dont people have any respect for the sanctity of online fan boards... lol
Maybe you need to stay out of the discussion if you don’t know the history. Those people deserve to be called out for their hateful takes. Just a thought
I didn't think Detroit is a good shooting team either.... I actually thought Ivey makes sense paired with Cade because they are basically opposites and Ivey gives them a motor to push in transition in a way that Cade frankly doesn't do but once in the half court set, it's definitely going to be the Cade show. I could see some opportunities for Ivey to get easy buckets as a cutter though with some of the passers he will be surrounded by...but those lanes might not be so clean until Detroit gets better shooters.
Nah, maybe I can say whatever I want and call you pathetic, because you look really, really pathetic. Go join the Thunder forum, they'll all worship your guy for you.
