"I never really watched the show but I don't understand why you are describing it like this" is one of the more Aggie things I've seen today. Just watch it. Or don't.
You're not at all interpreting that how I meant it. I watched season 1. It came off a certain way. Yada, yada, yada know yall say it's DARK. So I want to know what happened that made it so dark. I am interested in that but not really interested in watching the show. I'm also not bashing the show or people who watch. Just CURIOUS. Geeeeeeeeeez.
Well geeeeeez, man, I'd give Season 2 a watch then. It's great. Then...crazy talk I know...if you liked that...I'd watch Season 3!
I just hopped onto this about a week ago and I'm already halfway through season 2. I'm actually blown away. For all of the crap TV, HBOMax is such a bargain in terms of what they offer.
Agree with you on both points, now just waiting for season 4... I realize the episodes are shorter but they don't even feel like they're that long... , during my binge through seasons 1-3 it went too fast, it seemed like they were 15min each or so, haha
Also kudos to Bill Hader to convince me a former SNL star could be a violent marine and also a bad actor
Blasted through season 2 and season 3..... what an amazing show and everyone nailed it. Bill Hader and Henry Winkler... awesome performances. Noho Hank... what a character and maybe the only redeeming major character in the series. Fantastic season finale. Hopefully they don't try and drag this out and stop at season 4. Different show, but the "dramedy" of Weeds should have ended at season 3 or season 4 at most.
Good analogy, I think I bailed on Weeds with a couple of seasons to go, same with Shameless and Orange Is the New Black.
Watched all of season 3 over the last few days. Excellent. It's to the point where I keep annoying everyone I know in real life because I keep telling them to watch the ****ing show already Jesus!
I really hated the marketing pic they used for the show of Bill Hader making a dumb face in front of a mirror. I remember seeing it for the first time in a hotel in the tv insert they always have and thinking "I will never watch this dumb show". I'm glad some friends talked me into it though I like it kind of despite Hader's many dumb faces.
That's how I felt. They completely mis-marketed this whole show. It's honestly a really deep and inteligent story about ethics and even complex issues like PTSD, abuse, the way the entertainment industry works, how we deal with things like gender, sexuality, and what's perceived to be attractive (notice how often the studio execs mention Barry's height or that Sally is perceived as being too old to be attractive)
I'm on season 3 of episode 3 btw. Would love to do a DEEP discussion, possibly in DMs, with people once I finish the season. Probably will sometime this week.
I agree. The third season was good but not as great as seasons 1 & 2. It probably needs to end so I'm glad they are not trying to over extend it.
Woot Woot, can't wait for season 4, Henry Winkler was good last season so I cant wait to see what happens to him if and when Barry gets out
