    Batiste had a good career in Europe. He won 3 euroleagues with Panathinaikos and was once the greek league’s mvp. He was with the Wizards last year. I like him because he feels an interesting role within the staff.

    Euro basket is taught on fundamentals, covering for the lack of extreme individual athletic ability usually found in the US and Africa, so they focus a lot on maximizing skills abd playing the “right way”. It’s a very brainy way of executing basketball and is definitely something great to have with a team with so many younger players, trying to develop and maximize their talents.

    Panathinaikos is one of the all time great euro teams, a true blue blood in continental competitions. Staying there that long and achieving what he did means he definitely wasn’t a pushover as a player, and all that experience at that level in a fundamentally sound league and competition should definitely be an asset. Think of it as the kind of coaching hire the Spurs often make.

    Batiste could be #3. Got suspended 2 games last season for getting into it with a fan who kept yelling at their team on a lopsided loss. Gotta love it.

    Jalen Green had to crawl before he could fly

    Silas had Jalen Green blossom from an ugly caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly…give that man his props

    a lot of the stuff Green was doing towards the end of the season, he couldn’t pull off in the beginning

    Lionel Hollins is a great get. I like this approach much better than poaching coaches from the NBL

    It kinda looks like were finally building a competitive coaching staff rather than a retooling, development one.

    I think were up to something.. now why would Fertitta do that? o_O

    Lionel Hollins is a fantastic pickup.

    Things were a bit doom and gloom since Harden left, but all credit to Stone (and maybe Tilman?), they've done a lot of things right, at least on paper. The rebuild has been very structured with a clear direction.

    I love the Hollins hire. The assistant coaches interact with the players more than the head coach, so this is perfect.
