I can't find a team record for strikeouts in a 9 inning game. We know 20 is the single pitcher record, so we conceivably have tied an MLB record today, but something tells me a team has struck out 21 or 22 batters before in a 9 inning game.
I want to know if we set a record for most strikeouts in a 3-game series. 48 is insane, you have to average 16 per game to pull that off.
I said it the other day and I’ll say it again, you’re seeing some ALL-TIME great historic stuff from this pitching staff right now. Enjoy it because you will almost certainly never see it again. Simply incredible.
Let’s see how he manages this pitching staff in the postseason. I wouldn’t have started McCullers or L. Garcia on three days rest last year.
Last 12 games by starting pitching: 71 1/3 IP 33 H 11 R 25 BB 74 K 10 Quality Starts 9-0 Record The 33 hits allowed stands out the most to me. That's Nolan Ryan at his ultimate prime territory.
Doesn't he have the all-time lowest BA allowed? Eta- quick research says he's the all-time H/9 leader, so yeah His only real flaw was allowing a walk-a-thon
