These two played together in high school (AAU circuit) and will come in with the same chemistry JG and Christopher had last year. Stone assembling a team of hoopers. Let’s see if that translates to wins (not that it matters for at least one more year).

TyTy is the best pure point guard we have on the team.

TyTy is more combo guard than point guard.

Often seen playing off guard in college

Played off guard in college because the Kentucky’s second best guard was a midget point guard that was incapable of playing off guard.

He had an almost 3:1 assist to turnover ratio last year.

That UK team couldn’t shoot, the spacing was terrible. Washington played the second half injured as well.

Washington is a good point guard and distributor.

Not as explosive or as big a scorer, but a better defender and passer. Washington has a chance to surprise a lot of people. Very competitive and confident with a good feel for the game.

Probably the main thing against Washington is his limitations athletically. If he had a tad more bounce he would be super exciting!

TyTy looking real regular with his shirt off. When he stops playing he's going to look like his uncle, lol

Agreed. He isn’t a stiff, he has some athleticism but compared to a lot of the guys out there now. The spacing was terrible at UK so I am hoping that’s why Washington didn’t get to the basket more. He also had a lot of weight on him as a freshman… so with better conditioning the hope is he surprises as an athlete.

If nothing else he should be a nice back up point guard.

He needs to be taught better nutrition and working out. He doesn’t look like it from far away, but he is overweight and that is possibly impacting him athletically. He was similar to Nix in that regard.

I remember at UK a reporter asked him what he liked to do off the court and he said: “I love cake.”

Sure, they were 14th in the nation in points per game but they all stunk.

Wheeler is a point guard averaged over 6 assists per game despite his 5'10" height

TyTy lacks athleticism, burst of speed, quick first step, elusiveness. He will struggle
at the NBA level as the main facilitator as he struggled to get by defenders at the
    college level.

There is a reason why he dropped so far in the draft.

He may well struggle in the NBA, there are questions about whether he is a good enough athlete.

His supporters will point to the fact he was surrounded by non shooters and played out of positions. They will also point to his conditioning.

His detractors will point to him sliding in the draft and his lack of penetration in college.

I like his chances on a coin flip, but either way he is a good passer and a point guard. Whether he makes it long term in the NBA remains to be seen.

Let’s give him time as a pro with a team of nutritionists.

He had a lot working against him last year @ Kentucky and I think it really hurt his draft position.

He may lack a little explosiveness, but he has a lot of tools in the box and doesn't ever seem to get rattled mentally nor does action by the defense make him speed up .... he's cool under pressure.

Probably should have been a lotto pick .... but I'm glad he fell to us.
