They're both expiring - the money is spent at this point.

A rental of flake king Kyrie is not going to have a broad market. Might be broader in midseason.

It's why he couldn't find an S&T last week.

I'm not saying Westy expiring and 2 future 1sts is the best you could do, but it's not much worse than whatever else you get.

Nets had no incentive to tank in the glorious years of Clutch fans favorite Kenny Atkinson - but they had 3 straight lotto seasons anyway.

The NBA is in transition the last few seasons and the next two. A glut of great players will retire and/or be completely washed up. Who knows where the Nets will be.

Also as i said they could get their own top 10 pick this year if they wanted. They if they wanted could have a ton of picks from the Sixers and whatever they would get from Simmons/Irving/Durant. I dont know how far they will go in that direction It could be a young team and they will add young talent from other teams and clear cap space for free agents to add to them in a few years. i dunno

Very possible the Nets get Ayton and Bridges plus a few picks for Durant. Just lots of uncertainty.

Still better for us than the Nets having Kyrie, Durant, and Harden.

What young player is going to dealt for KD? They will get something equal to the Gobert deal.

I know Dallas has been rumored looking at Kyrie, but Durant return to Texas could make the Mavs pretty powerful next year. Nets may want an additional first, but this gives them some solid vets that they could potentially trade at the deadline for picks or retain to help with the rebuild.

I don't see any team offering up a Harden trove of picks, maybe 2 picks max is where I'd end discussions.

There's just not enough teams involved to bid them up ,,,

What team is offering up a package of "quality players" to the Nets ?

Teams aren't lining up to give Brooklyn good players, they want to keep as many of those players as possible to add Durant to ... they'll get matching salary ($35m) and a pick or two .... and those picks won't be all that great either.

They are gonna suck because they don't have a choice ....

Phoenix may give Ayton and every pick they have but that is still favorable for us

    Ayton/Claxton
    Simmons
    Harris
    Mills/LSU guard
    Irving

Maybe goes 41 and 41. Id guess more like 30-52. 2023 still (likely) wont matter but Irving will jet and 2024-2027 look good!

Switch Kyrie for Westbrick. Irving will force himself to the Lakers just wait and see. The Nets are going to suck and try and use other teams picks to make up for what is going to us.

Ben SImmons has always been DPOY candidate. Tell me who's a better player now in our roster than Ben Simmons. There's no player in the rockets that is better now but I'm not trading our main young guys simmons just the pick we get from the nets.

Ben Simmons hasn't played basketball in a year. Theoretical Ben Simmons would be the best player on the roster, but he's a headcase and he doesn't appear to be playing basketball fulltime anymore.

ben simmons is a $40M/yr broken negative asset with back problems who doesn't even want to play basketball and you actually want him on the rockets? all those previous threads and posts on ben simmons and his failures and STILL you think ben simmons is a good idea? wtf...

I just want to improve next season.
    Sengun
    Smith
    Simmons (point guard)
    Green
    KPJ

There's no way we can draft a player like simmons in our draft picks with nets. So I'll do the gamble and compete.
