Love Wemby, but hate the idea of his injury potential.

Hope we land #1 and can extort the **** out of OKC in a trade package.

    Victor Wembanyama injury history

Wembanyama has had several injuries in his young career. His season ended on June 3 after what’s been reported as a psoas injury. It was his third injury of the season. He also suffered a small fracture of his finger in Nov., and then had a stress fracture in his fibula that cost him two months starting to Dec.

Can someone explain to me the massiv hype around Wembanyama. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand him being the clear favorite to go #1 - but people say he is the best prospect since LeBron and a generational talent.

He is very tall and very agile for his height and he can shoot and has good defensive instincts. All of this is true for Chet as well. Wemba is taller, Chet can shoot better and looks more agile to me. Both have trouble creating their own shot, but Wemba is also playing with grown men and is still only 17 years old. There are also injury concerns about him with already several injuries in his past.

What am I missing? What makes him a better prospect than AD, Zion, or even Dwight or Kyrie? Isn't he "just" a unicorn like Chet? Or do the couple of inches he has on him make that big of a difference?

Wemby has a much better frame to pack on muscle. He will need to if he wants to jump in to that Shaq/Giannis comp that I have seen.

I don’t think he does, he’s injury prone already. More weight isn’t going to do him any favors and will hurt his agility in small spaces.

Let's use the Nets pick next year to draft him so he can back up Alpi and Bari.

Yeah, his ceiling and potential are pretty terrifying. To be that coordinated with a frame and skillset like that at 17-18 years old, assuming he continues the next steps to fulfill that potential, is why you'll see some of the most highly focused tank races next year.

The best thing about him is not only is he extremely gifted talent-wise, but he's also a high motor player, you can't teach that.

We should be about the same team as last year. Smith is too young to move the needle in one year. Put us in the sweepstakes with good odds to land.
