Undersized black hole who can't shoot so I'm not complaining. Still I'd rather trade him because he would serve a ton of competing teams very well.

I like Tate. I think he fills a role on this team. With the rooks coming in, Tate will eventually go to a bench role of which I think will fit him perfectly. Tate gives great effort, plays smart, and seems to have a team first attitude. It's good to have guys like that on the roster.

Could be a low-key way to gauge his trade market value around the league too
See which teams are interested with basically no risk of losing him unless by choice
    I like S&T idea ...

Really for me this comes down to Tate or KJM won't be here by camp
I prefer Tate's heart, hustle, and commitment to the team
But I prefer KJ's size, athleticism, and potential

Coin flipper really, but I guess I want to keep the guy that wants to be here most
    3yrs @ $15M sounds about right

Bottomline is I'm happy to see Stone recognizes the need to clear out some play time at F for Bari, Tari & Usman
None of those 3 should sit to develop Tate or KJ

Why is everybody calling Tate a black hole?

The dude was 8th in FGA rate on the team ... and he was a starter

Guess now that Wood is gone people have to release their frustrations with life on another player. RIP spin daddy Tate.

I don't mind keeping him. I feel like he would be easy to move at any point to a contender who is looking for a blue collar player that hustles his ass off on defense.

No way there isn't a deal already agreed upon.

Otherwise it seems like a weird gamble.

Stone’s drafting has been impressive his contract situation significantly less so. He didn’t just hand one out to Wood so I guess there’s that. Interested to see what happens here.

He gets called a black hole because when he does decide to be aggressive, he just puts his head down and goes at the rim. (over and over sometimes).

I don't mind it, because he is actually a pretty good finisher.

What is Patrick up to now? I've heard he's very involved in running the team.

Ugh tying up cap space in Tate when he’s at his ceiling is terrible. Love his hustle but he’s undersized and is a poor shooter. Let him go we got plenty of young guys who need burn.

I understand Tate's a good dude to have around the youngins in some ways. JT's a dog, but he's 6'4" w/ no J. I also didn't dig him trying to do too much last year. He needs to be one of multiple players sent out in a deal to a playoff team or a pretender eventually. (sooner rather than later due to minutes) No need to get all sentimental while we're rebuilding. I DO NOT want to keep him until we're winning. Him and his contract need to be flipped at the appropriate time.

Because he's our best defender & hustle player. Also a decent ball handler
