Depends on my mood. Funky RHCP Heavier FF Both sing a couple of my favorite songs. Under The Bridge and Let It Die. Edge to RHCP. They really created a unique sound and expanded beyond it. They're more fun also.
I really only liked each band for a small period. Pros for RHCP * Early stuff is fun * Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic is a landmark album with landmark songs, but can't say that I've listened to any of the deep cuts for a long time. * I think One Hot Minute is somewhat underrated Pros for Foo Fighters * The debut self-titled album is one of my favorites from the 90s. Really the only album by them that I like. * Everlong I'm going to go with RHCP I guess.
RHCP for me.... although Foo Fighters are one of the great bands to see live. Maybe heresy, but RHCP's By the Way is one of my favorite albums ever even if it doesn't contain the best singles, just fantastic from start to finish.
I lost interest in the Foo Fighters not long after they released Sonic Highways. They've released a few really good songs since then but only a few, IMO. Their post-prime stuff is still far better than anything from RHCP's prime to my ears though. Way better. Like, I sort of hate the RHCP. Sorry.
We clearly know your answer. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...one-of-the-greatest-bands-of-all-time.176092/
They're both awesome, but when I finally get to start at second base for the Astros you'll hear Everlong when I step up to the plate.
RHCP is one of those bands that basically never evolved. They've been playing up the same shtick musically since day 1. Foo wins this one and it's not particularly close.
