That has been the main reason he's not come before Congress during his two impeachment hearings even though he said he would, or testified to Mueller. His lawyers very well know he will perjur himself if he testifies under oath.

If Hutchinson is lying then those who disagree with her should be willing to go before the committee and testify under oath.

 

How is it hard to understand how Coups work? I mean it’s a bit generous to give Trump the benefit of the doubt that he had a well thought out plan, but Michael Flynn knows exactly how Coup’s are carried out.

I would recommend you take a history lesson and read up on what happened when Mussolini and his black shirts (much like the Proud Boys at the time) did something similar in Rome. Trump
Being at the Capital that day in place of Pence after he’s removed for safety or whatever and the Republicans in Congress applauding him as he addresses them after he “restored order” is everything Trump could dream of.

Im not claiming to know exactly what Flynn, Bannon, Stone, Guiliani, and Trump actually were planning because it seems as though the real investigation is just now getting started so we have a ton to learn, but when you look back at history in virtually any other coup attempts, it makes perfect sense why the plan was for Trump to ultimately be at the Capital and in the end be the final speaker in the room that day.

I'm listening to Mick Mulvaney, former Trump chief of staff, and he said he thinks that Hutchinson's testimony was very credible and even that it changed his mind about Trump.

He did just dodge the question on whether he will vote for Trump again but said he thinks that Trump will face serious challenges in the Primaries because of this.

 

My takeaway is that Liz Cheney is really good at what she's doing. Now it makes so much sense why she intertwined Michael Flynn's pleading of the 5th to those two specific questions. Because at that time, the audience watching was thinking what Os Trig was wondering which is... well why would Trump see what was happening and be like "I need to be there" in such a forceful way. Enter Mike Flynn, and the pre-planning meeting at the Willard Hotel the day before, and it all makes sense in that context. Mike Flynn knows EXACTLY how coup's work, and the plan looks pretty clear knowing how Flynn would have orchestrated the day to go.

It also makes sense why Mark Meadows is the key witness, and the primary focus from the start. What Hutchinson did yesterday was basically told the DOJ that if they are not prosecuting Meadows, then they are essentially publicly saying that they will be accomplices to the crime of the century by blatantly not acting on the crime.

The committee knows that Flynn, Rudy, Bannon, and Stone will never flip and will just plead the 5th all the way to jail if they have to. Mark Meadows is the key witness here and while he wasn't in the room at the Willard, he was on the phone according to what we've learned. The DOJ better be either getting him to talk, or putting him in jail for obstruction of Congress.

Yeah I don't think Liz Cheney takes this role, and goes all in on this if she didn't feel like she had the ability with the evidence she knew was there to truly take him out. I never for a moment have questioned her loyalty to the Republican party, and even now I still think that's the case. She's ultimately doing what needs to be done to save the party and at the same time possibly saving the country. It's obvious to me that Garland probably would be doing nothing if not for Liz Cheney being key to the 1/6 committee's work.

I think she had knowledge of Mark Meadows' role from the start, and knew right away that he's the key. On 1/6, and 1/7 Cheney was still tight with the freedom caucus, Jim Jordan, etc. and I'm sure all of this way told second hand to Liz never in a million years thinking she would turn on them.

We just have to keep in mind that these guys (Cheney, and Mulvaney too) are dedicated to the GOP in a way me or you probably aren't dedicated to anything other than our families. Of course they'll still likely vote for Trump in 24 if he's the nominee because they serve the party in the end. Right now they have a shot to do what's best for the party (which they know is getting Trump out) and in 24 if they feel like it's best for the Party for Trump to win so the GOP can hold onto power in the Senate, House, Judiciary, etc. they'll act on that loyalty. Was there Republicans in 2020 that wanted him to lose personally but still were working to serve the party by getting Trump elected... your damn right there were. Liz Cheney was likely one of them.
