I would agree that that is most likely the time the Rockets will begin to focus just on wins, I'm curious to know who all will be in the tanking race this next year. I assume the Rockets will be to the best of their abilities and regardless of the outcome, will probably be the last year they do.

Bruno Fernando is a G League player.

Re-sign him to Vipers if anything.

No shock in these 2 not being brought back.

A vet backup C with range would be nice. No clue who that is...
    Dieng?
Bamba has the talent, but there is so much he needs to learn

The backup center needs to be a vet that can hit a 3 and play passable d. Dieng and Dedmon stick out to me as good options. However, I am also 100% on board in just using Boban when needed

Hopefully Garuba/Sengun/Eason/Smith soak up the vast majority of the mins.

    Trade Gordon, Martin and Tate.

    Buyout Wall.

    Release Burke, Chriss, Brown, Marjanovic.

Let Fernando and Schroeder leave as free agents.

Green, Porter, Smith, Eason, Sengun can start

Have: Garuba, Matthews, Queen, Washington, Nix, Nwaba come off the bench

    C - Sengun/Garuba
    PF - Smith/Eason
    SF - Eason/Matthews/Porter
    SG - Green/Queen
    PG - Porter/Nix/Washington

    Jalen Green
    Alperen Sengun
    Josh Christopher
    Usman Garuba
    Kenyon Martin Jr.
    Jabari Smith
    Tari Eason
    TyTy Washington

I'd like to see these 8 players in the rotation by the end of the season.

Jae'Sean Tate and Kevin Porter Jr. still need to show me more for me to decide if I want them part of the Rocket's future. I'm 50/50 on Porter Jr. But with Tate I like Eason's potential and Martin Jr. at SF, so Tate is the odd man out.

as a Destiny Garuba only, I liked Bruno a lot and he is surprisingly young. Oh well, more time for Uzi

    Hopefully future draft picks.

Ideally I want a #1 for Gordon, a #1 for Tate and a pair of #2's for KJ but will likely have to settle for a single #2.

The Rockets really don't have a lot of draft assets going forward... everyone considers the Nets picks, but they don't consider that we owe the Thunder picks as well.

We only have more than a single #1 next year, with the Bucks pick.

The Rockets keep their own pick next year (with the right to swap with Brooklyn) so I am not overly concerned with wins, more concerned with finding out which players are keepers.

After next season the Rockets will have a lot of cap space and can add a free agent starter if needed, and we will need to prioritize winning.

Sorry, I forgot Christopher - he needs a chance for minutes at the 1-2 as well. If he can shoot well enough, he can be very important long term as a defender.

What aren't more people talking about cutting Nwaba? I don't expect him to contribute to the team this year. His contract is a little larger than the Mavs guys coming in, but if we want the roster spot for a young guy or even a veteran who has a chance to contribute in a few years that's one of the first places I'd look.

I've heard this a lot, but I think too much emphasis is being paid on the number of FRPs and not the quality. The Rockets are up 1 FRP outright in number above allotment, but they are all unprotected with most of those being on a rebuilding Rockets team and/or an imploding Nets team. The Rockets also have 3 unprotected swaps. Those swaps have a lot of value as they double a team's chances of winning the lottery especially in light of news that Brooklyn may implode.

In overall future draft capital value, I think the Rockets are third behind OKC and New Orleans.

Considering Christopher's defense, passing, and ability to score inside, he would be a mighty fine starter, even at the SF, if he start knocking down a lot of threes.

I liked Fernando too in the limited minutes he played. But with the news of Garuba being very impressive during the summer, I can understand the move.
