Ya, I don't get it at all - Booker is okay for his age, but he is super one dimensional - kind of like Klay Thompson without the defense. He just isn't worth that type of money and its unfortunate that a rebuilding team like Phoenix was stuck handing out a max contract in the new CBA to someone coming off their rookie deal. At some point all max type guys coming off of rookie deals will make this kind of money in the new CBA but until then his contract is pretty toxic compared to the talent that type of money gets you -certainly a more established and proven star.
Why didn't they sign Booger to market by matching whatever offer is around for him and use that money to tug on players like Klay? I give KT1 a lot of **** for not being prime time while thinking he is, but any other GM would give him that money compared to Booger.
Thought it was funny when I first read it…. Assuming it was some random Twitter account. Realized it was Andrew Bogut that said it and it makes it that much funnier.
