No I just live in Florida and hear people talk. It's pretty nutty. Much much different from NYC.

I hear people saying we are approaching end of times, and how that antifa is going to try to take control of this country and they are ready to fight. They talk like Dems are evil.

Ironically when I talk to people, they always just assume I'm a Republican. It's so weird.

Unfortunately Evans is above "debate bro" bs. Great journalist though. He is what Glen Greenwald wishes he was before he became a right wing grifter.

 

Also I suggest his "behind the bastards" podcast. Extremely well sourced and very nuanced series about individuals and entities that ****ed up our society.

 

Have you read about the Texans Republican platform. It calls for succession and says Trump won the election among other craziness.

Civil wars are not grass root efforts. They are politically driven, top down.

The concern is societal collapses. This is where gun ownership is important, not the narrative of defending yourself against a complete unified government.

 

When they start killing people and they become an existential threat. I believe the right will do that because they are on a slippery slope to demonizing mexicans, blacks, LGBTQ, women who have abortions, and liberals. Many abortion clinics have been bombed and doctors killed for instance.

I think gun ownership in and of itself is destabilizing. We've seen what happens when a group of people are tricked into believing an election was stolen by the opposition party, they were willing to take guns to the capitol and attack and enter it with the purpose of disrupting an election. Guns aren't just used in self-defense, most likely they will be use for revolution against a gov't they disagree with.

They will argue that it's oppression to live under a government they disagree with, even though it was democratically elected.

 

So long as you teach me all the in's and out's of using and maintaining a shotgun.
