looks like the WSJ wants to endorse AOC for the Senate

    Run, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, Run
She says the Senate is ‘undemocratic,’ so challenge Schumer.

    By The Editorial Board

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the celebrated progressive, is very unhappy with Joe Manchin and the U.S. Senate these days.

“It is unconscionable the way the Senate operates. It’s fundamentally undemocratic,” she said Monday after Sen. Manchin had announced his opposition to the Build Back Better Act. “What we really need to do is crack down on the Senate, which operates like an old boys’ club that has a couple of gals in it that have managed to break through.”

If that’s how she really feels, here’s an idea: Run against Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer next year. The New York City Congresswoman has played coy for a year on a potential Democratic primary run. Why not finally drop the pretense and have the courage of her loud convictions?

Some might shudder at the prospect, but what difference would it make it this point? In January we wrote an editorial, “Schumer and His Shadow,” as the powerful Senator seemed to mimic every demand from AOC. He’s echoed her plan to forgive student loans and adopted more or less the entire progressive agenda. He supports blowing up the filibuster rule as does AOC. And he did it again Monday in calling for a Senate floor vote on Build Back Better as Ms. Ocasio-Cortez commanded.

She’s already the shadow Majority Leader, so she might as well try and make it official. If the Senate is so awful, run to win and clean it up. Let’s see if New York voters agree.

As an added benefit, if Mr. Schumer managed to defeat her, he’d finally be free to be his own man again. Go for it, AOC.

That can be said about politicians on both sides, wouldn't you agree?

    What do you mean "offer".

If she wants to do things like reverse Citizens United and actually actively wants to end the revolving door mechanisms for systemic legal bribery corruption in our government, why would you be against that?

Because some YouTube video told you she's "woke"?

Be a little bit more nuanced on why you don't like her. I don't care if a politician has a 150 IQ or a 100iq. I want them to support the ending of legal bribery in Congress why wouldn't you support politicians who actively are for that reform?

I think she's an idiot. Not sure how she made it through Brown but ok. I don't think we're going to get to anything positive here. Your mind is made up.

Both sides suck. I just agreed with bobrek on that. We're not doing anything to make it better and that's a big problem

It doesn’t matter , it’s the media that’s propping her up
this is how media and entertainment influences the population

but that goodness the people are waking up and not falling for bad Pixar movies and realizing it’s not as good as the original Pixar movie

You post a lot here. So time isn't an excuse but if you feel comfortable hisguing people's intelligence so Willy Milly can I just say that even though you dedicate a lot of time on this message board you have the least nuanced contextualized discussions here? You state your opinions as a matter of fact and then give no rationalization and explicit reasoning.

At that point why even express an opinion? When I waste my time here I at least try to get something out of it by practicing my introspective skills and ability to reason out my thoughts.

I think you and I have different concepts of what intelligence is. For you, intelligence is merely "if someone's opinions align with mine, they are intelligence". For me is someone's ability to be introspective and ability to deconstruct previous held beliefs and understand how they formed.

That's quite the diatribe. Glad you think that you can discern someone's intelligence. Don't be offended but I am less than impressed that your feelings got hurt in the military and you're lashing out here. I'm not going to trash you because it's not what I want but hopefully you're OK after all this social justice garbage

on edit: I think she ought to try and pull up the videotape from the confirmation hearings. Should be pretty easy to put together a mixtape of them all lying

Will she be old enough? Have to be like 35 to run for President I think.

She speaks truth, and doesn't fall for the Right's propaganda, calls it out, she is where the majority of the American's are in their desire for proper governance, she is the future of the democratic party and will be far more effective than the leaders in there now as she understands going directly to the people.

Yep, she turns 35 in 2024 before the election date.
