We just ruined the day for all those Yankee fans. Astros slapped that no hitter in their faces, even with the umpire trying to save them at the end. We just showed them that their 36 million dollar pitcher can't stop us!!! Hahahaha
So proud of Javier and the boys. This is amazing. New York and the media can suck the Astros big 'ol donkey weiner.
We now have the last no hitter against the Yankees in OLD Yankees stadium AND the First no hitter against the Yankees in NEW Yankees stadium.
This game just had so many positives: 1. What a performance by Javier. 13 K's in 7 innings. His only two base runners were because of a bs check swing call and a Bregman throwing error. 2. JJ waking up everybody! Man, that was crushed. 3. Neris not melting down after that bs umpiring done in the DJ AB and shutting down the Yankees and the HPU. 4. Pressly bouncing back and picking up 2 K's. Great to see him not let the Thursday game bother him today. 5. No-hitting this stupid team, despite the HPU trying his best to reach Angel Hernandez status. 6. Meyers looking good at the plate with two hits in his second game. 7. Yuli coming up with a great pinch hit RBI. The HPU tried to screw this game up for the Astros, and he failed...just like the Yankees did trying to get a hit.
"invisiball" ? Tell me about this. My idiot breaker was always called the "troubleball" I may need to learn things from you.
Astros vs NYY 2015 Beat them in NY to win the Wild Card 2017 Beat them in the ALCS 2019 Beat them in the ALCS on a Altuve walk-off Not one but TWO combined no-hitters and both of them in NY.
https://theathletic.com/1637194/202...ball-that-has-him-on-the-verge-of-the-majors/ From a different article if you don't feel like a longer read "On a macro level, Javier’s repertoire fits the mold of the modern Houston Astros pitcher almost exactly. He is a high spin rate guy, with above average numbers in that department: 2400 RPM average on the fastball, and a demonic 2750 RPM on the curveball. He’s flashed curves reaching nearly 3000 RPM in his limited stints as a reliever previously. The fastball can run all the way up to 96 MPH, but more often sits 91-94, and has been referred to as an “invisiball”, due in part to the mechanics of his delivery. Hitters describe it as the ball looking like it’s “coming out of his chest”. All of his offspeed pitches have above-average horizontal movement (the curve heads east to west so much it’s often electronically categorized as a slider, for example. It is just a curve manipulated in different ways.) and the fastball has tremendous rise to it, among the league’s best in vertical movement. For reference, it is a fastball with comparable amounts of “drop” (or lack thereof) as 2019 Justin freaking Verlander".
Any chance at this point Baker goes stupid and puts Javier back in the bullpen after Odorizzi comes back? Seriously this cannot happen.
