For the last 50 years Roe has been on every federal ballot … for the Republicans. Too bad the Democrats were not of liked mind.

Going forward it will be interesting to see if the Democrats can turn out voters on the choice issue as well as the other issues the SCWs have in their sights: contraception, gay marriage, gay sex, premarital sex, “recreational” postmarital sex, women’s voting rights (not mentioned in the Constitution), segregation, all rights for black people, etc.

There are documentaries that have been made about the genesis of the Pro Life movement. When the courts shot down the separate-but-equal laws, SCWs were politically organized but realized that segregation was a lost cause. Screaming “N*gga, N*gga, N*gga” (quoting Lee Atwater) was not a winning political strategy. In search of their next political cause, the SCWs settled on Pro Life, even though at the time abortion to them was no BFD.

Texas AG closes office, creates annual holiday to celebrate overturning Roe

Paxton announced that he would close all of his offices for the remainder of the day “as a memorial to these babies.”

“Our hearts and prayers go out to all of them,” said Paxton. “Never again should something like this happen in America.”

The Office of the Texas Attorney General released a statement affirming Paxton’s decision to enshrine June 24 as a holiday and announced that abortion is now illegal in Texas due to a “trigger law” outlawing the practice that was implemented just after the Supreme Court ruling was passed down.

I guess incest and rape don’t happen often enough to keep a few of these places open? There needs to be a few loopholes added to these laws.

I don’t like this logic. Why should rape and incest be a more legitimate reason for a woman right get an abortion than she does not want to be pregnant for her own private reasons.

If abortion was murder, then there wouldn’t be carve outs. But abortion isn’t murder, it’s abortion.
