Man, Stone will look like a fukin genius for his Harden trade...maybe even a better trade than when we got Harden in the first place
This would be truly incredible, but the sense I get is this is just a leak from Kyrie or KD to twist the Nets into offering Kyrie the deal he wants, which I expect they will at the end of the day.
Anybody who valued Ben Simmons over the Nets package should be banned from talking NBA roster management
Another bonus: When the Nets are forced to trade KD, we'll find out once and for all whether rebuilding around Ben Simmons is a good idea.
Personally if I’m betting on what makes our picks better down the line I’d rather Brooklyn try to keep winning with aging Durant and no show Kyrie and Simmons until Durant retires rather than them break it all up early for a rebuild.
They will get a bunch for Irving in a sign-n-trade and Durant will still get a huge return. Our pick position will be determined whether they try and do a re-furbishment or a re-build. I could see a scenario where they get some pretty good guys with risk and Simmons plays good enough to make them competitive and we end up right around where we are this year. If Durant is available do they take a chance on Zion? What if AD stayed healthy? No doubt Lakers would make that trade.
Why? Our 2023 swap and 2024 pick will be incredibly valuable if they are forced to rebuild over the next couple of seasons. By that point, we'll be loaded up.
