9-3-17 They swept a 3 game set with them. They played a DH on Saturday because of issues from Harvey the week before.
This stretch against NY teams will be fun regardless. I wanna see how we match up and I hope Click is already looking for ways to possibly improve by the trade deadline.
There are those saying this is a tough stretch coming up. Lets instead, make it a tough stretch for New York! Go Stros!
Over the last 5 seasons, every time we head into a tough stretch the Astros have handled themselves well. While they have never been bad against bad competition (as so many around here seem to think) they have consistently been rock solid against good competition. 9 games against the 2 best teams record wise, and if I were a betting man we will go at least 4-5.
Couple of Elias Sports Bureau type of questions. Has a team ever played 9 consecutive games against both NY teams since interleague began? Since interleague began has a team ever played 9 consecutive games against the two teams with the two best records in baseball this late in the season? Even more unlikely when that team is the 3rd best team record wise.
Yordan could play tonight, Pena still is out for at least a few more days. Given our comfortable situation they're gonna show an overabundance of caution with both guys.
F$ck Darryl Strawberry. It has been a long time, and I don't remember specifically why...but I hate that guy and that hates rises any time I see the Mets stupid logo.
I'd call 9-0 a success. Though, I'd call basically anything a success over these next 9 games that the Astros end up with World Series odds greater than 12% as defined by FanGraphs.
