That's the odds on favorite. But it's not the smart move. When people see them on the floor being sliced and diced in PnR defense or handoffs while isolated off to the side.....then people will say, ApacheWarrior was right. Just last week I told you: First) Kenyon's father said he would rather KMj play for another team Second) article claimed Kenyon wants out Third) whether Banchero is drafted & plays SF or Ivey drafted & Porter moves to SF......Kenyon might be pissed his time gets diminished as 3rd string SF. I called it last week before today's news
Let me clarify what I mean. This draft is not that deep. Ivey might emerge as the best player out of this class in two or three years. This can only happen if he becomes a lead guard. Scoring is a bigger strength than passing I admit, but he doesn't play at only one speed and he can play in the half court . Ivey has good defensive potential with his length and speed. I don't think Houston will be an easy place for him with KPJ.
I'd be shocked if he ended up the best player in this class. Athletic undersized SG's with no PG skills are flashy and fun, but they aren't top player material. I think he'll be fine in Detroit playing a Robin role with Cade to run the point but we already have a much better SG who isn't undersized.
I admit that Banchero 's poor defense is his biggest problem. He is very slow to non existent on off ball rotations.
We have to surrond Jalen and Banchero with good defenders then. If that makes Segun gets traded or plays 6th man (which for a late first rounder is still impressive) thats fine.
Yes. Jalen is showing good improvement as a one on defender, but he needs to get better as an off ball defender. I hope Eason and Beauchamp will fall to 17th and 26. Terry is another option at 26.
And Small Ball being too small is overrated Player..(21/22)...Rebs...Reg....................................Playoffs Marcus Smart.................3.5 (since trade deadline).......4.5..... Jaylen Brown..................5.2 (since trade deadline).......6.9..... Tatum..............................7.0 (since trade deadline).......6.7..... _____________________________________________________________ ..................................... = 15.7 rebs / game.................18.1 rebs / game Curry...............................5.2...........................................5.2....... Klay.................................3.9...........................................3.9...... A Wiggins......................4.5............................................7.5...... _______________________________________________________________ ................................... = 13.6...................................... = 16.6........ Rebounds aren't everything from position 1 thru 3.....but the two teams that went to the finals rebounded by committee at PG, SG and SF. Jalen Green was 3.8 rebs in the last 16 games Porter Jr was 5.4 rebs in last 18 games Ivey was 6.0 rebs in 40-minutes.....I put him at 4.2 rebs as rookie ___________________________________________ = 13.4 rebs If Porter can get 6.0 as SF J Green get 4.0 rebs as SG as he is getting bigger and Ivey get me 4.2 rebs as combo guard ________________________________________ = 14.2 rebs / game.....we will be ok. Get me Tari Eason. Report Rockets are interested in Nic Claxton. Not sure that helps our rebounding. But group rebounding comes in many forms.
Correction: we have a much better SG who is ALSO undersized (and underweight for that matter). JG is the same height as Ivey (this 6’5 6’6 nonsense is a myth). Luckily the kids got game and is a freakish athlete - so it all balances out in the end
Jalen green is not undersized. 6'6 is prototypical SG size. Ivey is 6'4, he's stuck pretending to be a of PG despite a lack of skills due to being too small to pay the 2. Now your girlfriend may tell you that being 2 inches shy of what you should be doesn't matter.... but she's lying to you. If Ivey was 6'6 he'd be advertised as a SG and he'd have a higher upside.
You can tell by Ben's statements that he's young and green and hasn't been around long enough to know how the game is really played at the top of the lottery. Rockets targets are: Chet Ivey Jovic Chet and Ivey are the two players at the top of the Rockets draft board. And Jovic is a big time riser.
C’mon Robert - I’m not the one for childish takes/jokes. Save that for the kids you go back and forth with on here. I’m 6’4, have seen Jalen Green in person and We’re the same height. A 6’4 shooting guard is indeed undersized in todays NBA. More importantly, I’ve got two hands that would be more than happy to go upside your head if you’d like to talk slick with girlfriend/d*ck jokes in person, funny guy.
https://www.nba.com/rockets/roster 1. Visit link. 2. Click on option 0, then option 3. 3. Read each profile. Conclusion. Both are 6'4.
Lol c'mon kiddo, you're not really going to do the internet though guy shtick... are you? It's just sad. As to what passes for substance in this post, if it's all a big conspiracy and Green is really 6'4 instead of his official height, let's stay consistent and just call Ivey 6'2. Now we're back at square one.
Conclusion: one has to pretend they are a PG due to being undersized for the 2, one didn't have to do that. Draft crush season is the most annoying time of year.
