If Jovic is available wherever the Rockets second picks falls, they aren't going to take one of the 6'5"-6'7" 3&D guys over Jovic.

Great podcast, @Clutch and @BimaThug! I was already excited about the draft and I'm twice as excited now. I read Neema's deep dive into Dyson Daniels, and if we could trade up to Portland's 7th pick with Gordon, 17 and 26 (and maybe a future pick?), and take him (if Indiana hasn't), that would be a simply amazing draft haul for the Rockets this year. I cracked up when you said that if Jaden Hardy fell to 26, you'd love it, but that he could be "another Harold Miner" moment for you. I had to laugh!

The two of you are terrific together. Great listen. people!

I think the extremely obvious Gordon trade is PHX.

PHX will be able to trade their 2023 pick on draft night, they have Saric at 9 mill expiring, and they have Shamet on a 2/20 deal (It appears to be 4/44 but his last two seasons are NG). The only way I see Houston getting a first for EG is taking back some bad salary, Shamet is that guy, 10 mill cap hit in 2023 would be the price.

The Suns can offer Saric and Craig, who will make a combined 14.8 million, but I just can't see having any interest in paying a 1st while increasing their tax bill by nearly 5 million.

Excellent podcast @Clutch and @BimaThug. I still feel like Tari Eason is the guy to get with #17. I know there is "some" overlap with Garuba but I see Garuba more as a 5/4 and Eason as a 3/4. I could see Eason as the full time starting SF on this team. The "big wing" that takes the tough defensive wing assignments on a nightly basis. Whereas Garuba is more of the "Rob Williams" type mobile C playing the 4/5.

If it isn't Eason, and the Rockets trade up for a wing, then who is it? AJ Griffin? Sochan seems to be in the same situation as Eason. Daniels? Dieng? Not sure who else is the trade up wing?

Really is, he'd probably be #1 most years. I'm excited to see what he and Jalen (and to a lesser extent him and segun) can produce offensively

would line that trade and saric seems like a good piece to see if he can rehab any value towards the season / trade deadline .

I could also see us keeping Gordon and moving him at the deadline .

That is a little surprising, but his dad did speak out several months ago talking down on the org and seemed like he wanted him out of Houston. It is starting to be concerning that guys that have been around basketball are looking at the Rockets as a poorly run organization. Mobleys dad seemed to want nothing to do with Houston and same w Kenyon. Kenyon mentioned the desire to win and that signals that the Rockets are not planning to win this season either since he definitely has a better idea of what is going on than the rest of us. Coupled with the fact that Stone said to expect marginal improvements, I think we are going to be shooting for the top pick again.

I don't really have faith in the FO to make a decision between the 3 if they had the top pick, so am very ok w the 3rd pick and would not have the knowledge to really pick one over the other with the top pick. People will say Stone has done great drafting and poorly with trades, in reality if you take the consensus of Clutchfans opinions he essentially went with that last year. Green was the pick most people thought was it, and many were pushing for Alperen, he has not really done anything amazing out of left field that just panned out. Wood was a Morey move, KPJ is still unknown but better than expected, other than that I havent seen him really pull a rabbit out of a hat yet.

To be fair, the higher you pick, the more chances you have to make a blunder. So if you pick high in consecutive years and does not make any mistake, that in itself is some kind of accomplishment.

Look at Philly's "process" and look how many mistakes they made in drafting high. They had 4 top 3 picks in a row and ended with only one difference maker.

He'll be there at 17 if you want him.
