KJM is a perennial role player. He should have been starting last year just because Tate is the same and he can shoot better from outside. He is a set shooter from 3, mediocre on ball defender and ok rebounder. He is the definition of a bench player. If he can be part of a trade to get a real starter, a vet or draft pick, do it!
like 80% of the team was the definition of a bench player last year What I wanna know is why should the likes of Gary Matthews be getting more PT and starts than him last year? KJ’s value is minimal…he’s a 2nd round pick 20 mpg bench player on the worst team in the league
We should’ve traded Tate a year ago to clear up minutes for KMJ Pretty funny he’s asking for a trade tho like he’s earned that. His dad saw Gary Payton jr win a ring and now wants his son on a contender I say trade him if he’s dad is gonna be running his mouth KMJ whole career
I agree KJ should have gotten more minutes, but seriously who cares. He’s not a consequential player on the rockets. I had hoped he’d start next year, but given this Jack move let’s just trade him and move on. I know this makes me sound like an old guy, but the rise in entitlement in the modern sports world makes me sick. 2nd round role player demanding a trade? Seriously?
Yup. That rumor / somebody that Berman reference is Kelly Iko. So one of the two is lying mis-reporting.
No one cares who reported it....if it happened, it happened. I don't blame KMJ for trying to get to a better place to showcase his talents, if it is not Houston, then he should do that..... DD
I'd trade KMJ and Nwaba for Davion Mitchell. I'd also trade the pile of junk we got from the Mavs to the Lakers for HortonTucker. I'm prolly higher on Mitchell than most, and I have no idea if the Lakers would want to dance... but they need to replace the ancient bench they had last year with no cap room. I would even swap Wall for Westbrick if that helped.
Silas is a nice guy - it’s a rep he’ll probably still have even after he leaves here. But I don’t think he’s the one leading the charge when this core starts making play-in/ playoff noise. I’ve been wrong before though
The man knows between Paolo, #17, and 2023 FA that his days are numbered. I liked the kid but he’s just like Tate, a 6’5 SF/PF I can happily live without. Would much rather develop Garuba and have a 6’8 defensive ****ing monster at PF any day I see the roster the 2023 season being: KPJ/Solid FA Green/Christopher Established FA/pick#17 Paolo/Garuba Sengun/Defensive FA Don’t see much room for little Kmart
Yeah. Lions don't have to tell sheep who's the predator. Kenyon Martin Jr. isn't significantly outplaying Tate but crying foul because they'll probably draft a top flight 4? As a 2nd year player who produces like a rotation player? Yeah every time Sr. showed up he played like dogshit. This reeks of him, gassing up his own son. The highlight transition dunks are great but if they think that's worthy of starting, by all means, go get yourself buried on "a real teams" depth chart. Rockets gave him a chance and 20mpg to work on it. What contender is about to start Martin?
Tate is a great bench player that provides solid time on a contending team. I hope he carved out a PJ Tucker type role for himself in the league. He is not the wing player we need - and I hope we realize that on Thursday night.
Pretty sure SR doesn't want his son around teenagers who don't know how to win, rather him be around treadmill teams that make play ins/ playoffs and learn how to be a winner.
Part of the problem is the Rockets have too many alike players in size and ability. I really like them to clear the clutter. If they had a movement type of offense or a point forward type, I would prefer to have Christopher and Greene in the backcourt vs KPJ. Then you can have Martin Jr off the bench as a swing type of energy/defensive finisher type. The best thing KMJ could fo id work on his 3 ball like Bruce Bowen or even be a Mario Elie type. If you develop those kind of guys, you don't have to trade for them or overpay in free agency/
What are the chances Porters run in with coaches is really him calling Silas out on his coaching & run in with players is him calling out Wood cause honestly that’s what it sounds like the halftime incident was about. What if KPJ is just the only one ballsy enough to speak what clutchfans complains about all day? I’m slightly kidding
