Realistically it's going to be (1) Jabari, (2) Chet, and (3) Paolo. But Orlando could take Chet first and then it would be (1) Chet, (2) Paolo, and (3) Jabari. Not likely...but it could happen. You could sell me on any of the top 3 and you couldn't hold it against the Rockets for staying at the #3 spot and taking whatever's left. If they trade up for someone and 2-3 years down the line it becomes apparent they didn't get the best player of the 3, then I'm going to bring out my pitchfork against Stone. If we end up with Chet we still get a good player with a ton of potential. I just hope we trade back up into the lottery and get Jeremy Sochan if we get Chet. If we end up with Paolo/Jabari, we need to trade back into the lottery to get a big like Jalen Duren or Mark Williams.
Even if Chet goes one Jabari is going two OKC GM was sending Jabari off at the airport, Paolo didn't met Sam Presti, Paolo met and talk to Nick collision. Everything about Paolo to OKC is a smokescreen, Sam Presti is how stone should learn to move.
Rather trade for Jalen Johnson over Sochan. Trading back into lottery will take more assets imo. And Jalen Johnson is also 6'9, better playmaker coming out of college, better scorer, better 3P% (44% coming out of Duke), better rebounder, more disruptive defender, better rim protector, more explosive (speed and vertical pop) with same wingspan. Jalen Johnson is 6'9 KJ but with better handles, vision, length, defense and 3P%.
I am trying to understand why mock drafts have hawks taking Tari Eason when they just drafted Jalen Johnson Last year and he had no playtime for most of it.
I gotta say, the lineup of KPJ/Green/Tate/Paolo/Sengun has me salivating at how fun the offense could be, running like a motion offense with all those guys who can playmake/pass we just dont talk about defense
Yeah, again, I've accepted he's not making it to 3. Disappointing. Him and Green would have been an insane pairing.
I don't follow the media a lot. Most of what I see are tweets and links posted here on CF. So, I might have missed something. I thought most of the predictions out there were that Jabari and Chet would go top 2. Therefore, everybody assumed that Houston would take Paolo. Does that really mean Orlando and OKC are tight lips and Houston is showing its cards? Or is it just an obvious deduction?
In that SI article I posted, the lab where he works out has insane accuracy on the top picks and they think he is going to have a long career for what's it worth. They have had the last 8 /10 no.1 picks working out with them.
... Whatever, but do you think he would make that speech if they really had 100% decided their pick??
