Efficient? Have not really looked at his numbers but watching him play efficient does not come to mind, opportunistic is what I think when looking at him. Players like KMJ are a dime a dozen he does nothing great except jump and his defense is just meh it's not hard to earn minutes on a team this bad and he would be hard-pressed to find minutes on any of the playoff teams this year.
Issac cares more about his political career than basketball, doing interviews with Ben Shapiro and has not played basketball in two years.
So now you admit you were talking about KPJ? You can't even get that straight but the stupidity is coming from me?
Yeah, no sh*t I’m talking about KPJr u dunce, he is named in my post moron. I am responding to what was said on the 1st page. U must’ve been dropped as a child. Take your dumbass somewhere else.
Objectively. It's not a question. Here's KJ compared to the LA (league average) in both of his seasons. 2021 KJ - EFG .564 / TS% .590 2021 LA - EFG .538 / TS% .572 2022 KJ - EFG .591 / TS% .603 2022 LA - EFG .532 / TS% .566 Very much not a dime a dozen, through the Rockets' dysfunction at PG, and poor spacing, KJ managed to be very efficient at a very young age, in combination with his athleticism he's a special young player with the potential to be very good as he continues to develop.
I think we need to clean out the culture-killers this summer and start fresh with our young core. 1) C-Wood had to go. He was the entitled vet who hadn't really earned the right to be. He took up shots, didn't set a good example (defensively) and didn't seem to care much about the young guys. 2) KPJ needs to go. I'm not saying he can't be a part of something positive someday, but him playing PG is awful for the development of everyone else on the floor, and he's obviously still working out his own mental health problems (which I wish him the best on, but I don't think he talented enough to get special treatment either). I just don't see a successful future for the Rockets where he's a big part of it. 3) John Wall situation. The highest paid player on the team is healthy and sitting out. I don't care if it's a mutual decision, I can't see that being a net-positive influence on the young guys. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to play, but we need to find a way to get him off the roster. 4) Get a true PG that'll help the young guys (Jalen, Banchero*, Sengun, Christopher, #17/26 picks, Garuba etc) develop. It doesn't have to be a 35mpg guy, but someone like Tyus Jones would be ideal. If we can't lure a younger guy like him, I'd happily sign a vet like Rubio or even Jordan McLaughlin for 1-2 yrs who can run the offense well when they're in. 5) Get some vets who've been on winning teams. I know a roster of 15 talented 19-24 year olds sounds great on 2k, but too much youth doesn't build culture/direction, and guys like KJ don't get the clear roles like they should. The 3-4 vets don't have to be valuable or even play much, I just want some locker-room direction/guidance.
I don't care that we owe OKC all those picks. We can't keep filling up the team with multiple young prospects year after year.
So why the hell did you say this? Did I say KPJr is why KJ is demanding a trade? No, so stfu. Man, you are all over the place, one minutes its not about KPJ and the the next its of course i'm talking about him. Da ****?
One more thing I’ll say about KMJ ... dude gets stripped the easiest of any nba player I’ve ever seen
my god u are slow I responded with that because u quoted me this dumbass LOL it's amazing that's all you got out of this, it's KPJ's fault. Not the 2nd round fringe NBA player who somehow thinks he is owed more playing time, maybe just maybe KMJ is actually the problem? keep up
This is bad news, but not at all unexpected. His Dad made it very clear last season that KJ wasn’t happy. It seems like his father has maybe gotten into his head. That didn’t come out of nowhere no matter how they tried to sugarcoat it. He deserves a larger role. The kid can play, he’s young, and this team sucks. He deserves minutes, but he’s going about it the wrong way. Losing a young guy like that is going to sting. He should be a foundational piece, but if he’s unhappy they need to figure it out before it becomes a bigger issue. They damn sure better not give him away though.
Well, it’s starting to look like there are maybe toxic organizations all over the place, in all different sports. Or maybe players and agents are just quick to whine these days. Martin is 21 years old and he just averaged 21 minutes per game in 79 games. He got drafted in the tail end of the second round. I guess Martin sees himself as a star player.
He did that on 7 shots a game and less than 1 of the shots were self-created. I understand the raw numbers say he is efficient but he is barely above average even when most of his shots are spot-ups and putbacks. Yeah, he is a dime a dozen considering what he was asked to do on a team this bad. Anyway, let's just agree to disagree I would not be surprised if he is not offered a multi year 2nd contract above the average. We will see.
KMJ is a cheap contract for 2 more years, perhaps he can be used as a sweetener (w/ Gordon and either 17 or 26) to move up in the draft.
If it was easy everybody would be doing it, but no a 59% EFG from players who takes a 3rd of their shots from 3 is unheard of. Not barely above average but FAR above average.
If I'm Stone: Leak to Shams/whoever that the Rockets are looking to give KJ a chance to start anyways this season and expand his role so they aren't trading him. See if that dampens down the rhetoric. Start him the in preseason... if he looks good then great... .if he sucks, he's exposed himself to the league and nobody will want to give him money in free agency anyways in a year or two. I think he's earned a shot at being a starter... .but he sure as hell hasn't earned the ability to make trade demands. Only reason why he shouldn't at least be given a shot at starting is if we take Ivey. In that case it's debatable that you'll need to move a guard to the 3 spot. So no... don't trade him right now unless there's a great deal out there to net you a 1st rounder... which there isn't I'm sure cause he's not proven. Start him, and see what happens.
