This looks more like a parent trying to live through their child. He is going to screw Juniors career up.

Are we really to the point that a fringe NBA player who was drafted in the second round and has never earned a role as a starter can demand a trade? Trade him to China. Trade him to the G League for Kai Sotto (and I expect that guy to be terrible).

Once Gordon leaves, it should clear more time for him.
He runs the floor great with Jalen Green.

I think Stone wants to be his own man, not a subordinate to Jerry West.

He is most efficient in the Sengun lineups because he is such a good cutter.

    High effort player.

But still needs to be more disciplined and technique sound on defense.

he's a really nice fit next to Banchero and Sengun at the 3. It would be foolish to let him go in my opinion.

also i don't think we have mishandled his development. he played in 79 games last year. where else in the league is he getting more than 25mpg? which is what i project for him next season if he stays. he was nearly undrafted and we've given him a place to get recognized.

all that said if getting rid of him gets us a chance at a lottery pick then i'm not as miffed. his dad has been lowkey toxic.

I'm glad to hear the org may have some healthy skepticism about him. My fear was they were head over heels for him to the point of ignoring glaring issues

You realize that EJ Liddell only an inch taller and many people want to draft him to replace Tate.

Hoping Liddell can be as effective as Tate already is.

Tate is a legit player in NBA. All Rook team and should have been MVP of Young All Star's game. Cannot say that about any draft pick right now.

You could make an argument he earned more playing time but he played consistent rotation minutes. LMAO at trade demands. Make your role undeniable. He wasn’t exactly behind Pippen and Barkley at the 3 and 4, there was an opportunity to completely own the starting job and he didn’t take it. Be better this year.

As for KPJ he’s really fantastic as a fit player wise next to Green. He could lock that down if his maturity allows it.

I like KJ but I still think he needs a lot more work on his game before he is a SF that contributes to consistent winning (if he ever becomes that). He needs to get a much more consistent shot and handle. Love the effort, the way he runs the floor and finishes on the break, his helpside defense, and his attitude as a team player. All of those things scream ‘solid role player’ to me, not starter on a deep playoff team. I think he can get more consistent minutes starting this season with the moves that will be made to the roster. Mathews played more because we needed floor spacers and he had a good street h of shooting the 3 ball. They all get a opportunity to reset this season, so he should come in and win his playing time and show his worth.

Rockets can get 2 FRP while clearing space for KMJ. Gordon can be sent to Philly for their first, Tate can be sent to Denver or Milwaukee. Not saying to stack 5 first round picks in one draft but trading one of them can be done to make space if they want KMJ and are committing to the youth. Eason would need minutes as well, Marjon and whoever else this team wants to draft.

Maybe Rockets organization is more toxic than we realize.

    That's what tanking gets you.

Players want to be allowed to win and expand their resumes.

    He’s not good
Short arms gets stuffed at the rim often
Is not defending any elite 3’s
    Inflated sense of ego

I say keep him he might get more playing time this year and be happier. Don’t sell him for a loss bc he is unhappy, no one cares about your happiness when you’re the 10th best guy on the worst team in the league
