Rockets need to take the cobwebs off of John Wall and start him at PG this season. One year of wasting 40+ million on a guy to sit and watch games is enough. We as fans deserve to see him on the court. If he does well, then you trade him at the all-star break and get much more than by just releasing him now. KPJ is a screw-up away from being cut and should be coming off the bench in the sixth man role that EG used to do. He should not be counted on as the PG of the future at this point of time. FREE WALL!!!

You are correct. He should play this season, in another team.

Why? It's not our money/nothing to gain here. His contract is coming off the books soon regardless and the Rockets probably aren't doing much this year or a few more years for that matter. Wall is doing his part, and I don't see any shortcuts to becoming the Warriors (lol) or even recreating a small portion of the success the Rockets had in their recent WCFs years.

Just have to wait. I mean unless you think Wall has some secret no one else knows and suddenly can turn the clock back 10 years, he's looking like Arenas 2.0 without the drama, and that's a good thing.

Playing an injury prone 12 year vet over our young players...while running the risk he could injure himself and be even harder to trade.

Wall should free himself and opt out

Why would any fans want to see him play instead of our young guys? He has no future in this organization and is only in limbo because of his albatross contract. He's free to keep cashing checks so long as he understands that his presence is not needed on this team.

I don't think most Rockets fans want to see Wall play this season.

If the Rockets knew for certain they couldn't trade his contract, they would likely release him.

I would far rather see Ty Ty Washington or Jean Montero or KPJ get minutes at the point - maybe even Christopher.

I agree that we shouldn’t pay him $40 mil again to hang out in Miami. But what the alternative is, I don’t know.

Wall should accept a 15 million dollar buyout and play elsewhere!

This makes no sense to me. His contract ends after this season and he has no future with our team. Why in the world would we stunt the growth of our young players by giving the important minutes to Wall who we have no plans to retain?

    Very weird thought process, imo.

We are taking a beating for one more year on that contract which is a key reason next year is year 3 of The Tank, but are you suggesting it’s better to play Wall than see what we have in Nix, JC, or another rookie?

This year is largely about role player evaluation.

I really try hard to give people the benefit of the doubt and remain optimistic but when one guy goes out of his way to label KPJ a "thug" and insists he will do thuggish things like beat his future wife and similar disgusting insinuations BUT THEN make a post about starting John Wall I'll just have to let the nature of this place do its thing. SMH.

KPJ is the thug we cant play right? SMH

This would actually be the dumbest thing he's ever done. I doubt anyone's lining up to pay him $15MM this offseason.

Ok, let's disregard how Wall playing would impact the development of our young backcourt. Let's look at it just from a monetary perspective.

Let's assume that we play Wall as you suggest up until the All-Star break or Trade deadline. Now, you suggest we trade him.

I'm going to assume that the only teams that would be interested in trading assets for a few months of Wall would be a contender. That most likely means that the team acquiring Wall is over the cap. They'd be taking in $47M in salary for Wall so they'd be required to send us back $37.6M in salary.

So, what team is going to do that? Who's got $37.6M in contracts that they can afford to get rid of for John Wall? If you're willing to give up 33% of the salary cap for Wall, do you think the Rockets are going to want those players?

Basically, no team is going to give up anything of value for Wall unless the Rockets are willing to take on future salary. The Rockets would be much better off to just let Wall expire and maintain their cap flexibility.

Whether you believe that KPJ is the PG of the future or not, it's guarenteed that Wall isn't the PG of the future.
