This dude is just too skinny, too frail, too risky to take any higher than #3 or #4 overall. ORL and OKC would be smart to pass on him. Red flag - I could almost see his bones fracturing every time he moved.
If he falls to 17, they should consider taking a flier on him. In all seriousness, I think it's all but a lock he goes #5 to Detroit.
So the only play rockets even brought in to work out is paolo, Chet and Jabari pretty much never came in... this is just like last year where we are taking the guy that would love to be here.
https://therookiewire.usatoday.com/lists/2022-nba-draft-workout-tracker-prospects/ Spoiler: Prospects Worked Out The known list of players to have worked out with the Rockets: James Akinjo, Baylor Paolo Banchero, Duke MarJon Beauchamp, NBA G League Ignite Jamal Bieniemy, UTEP Malaki Branham, Ohio State Kendall Brown, Baylor Tari Eason, LSU MarJon Beauchamp, NBA G League Ignite Jamal Bieniemy, UTEP Kendall Brown, Baylor Kennedy Chandler, Tennessee Michael Foster Jr., NBA G League Ignite Trevor Hudgins, Northwest Missouri State Nikola Jovic, Mega Basket (Serbia) David Roddy, Colorado State
I know we had other guys come in but i am talking about top prospects, out of the so called big four we only brought in one guy, like @D-rock said stone is easy to read on who he wants.
Yeah I dont think so but as stated, Chet and Jabari didnt want to workout for us. Keegan didnt deny nor confirm. Same with Ivey.
Pretty sure we didn't bring in Ivey, he would had said something if we did, all he said was that he talked to us at the draft combine Notice how OKC staff saw him work out nothing on the rockets.
Yeah I wonder if any other GM is doing this: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-point-to-rockets-taking-dukes-paolo-banchero
@D-rock called it last year and this year Stone is to obvious on who he wants you can read him like a book, hell even the knicks at 11 went to see ivey work out but no one on the rockets FO went go see him????
It's easy to see why the Rockets want a big man, and the top three are all big men. Unless they are trading down, there's really no secret why they don't have much interest in Ivey. I do wonder why they didn't get Chet and Jabari to work out. Maybe those guys declined. There is a chance, albeit a small chance, that two of the three bigs may be available if OKC pick Ivey at #2.
The Rockets are focusing on acquiring two of these: Chet Holmgren Jabari Parker Jaden Ivey Nikola Jovic
