You and I have been saying it for a while.... too many young players. You're NEVER going to get anywhere
Sure, we can blame Silas as well, but Silas couldn't screw things up if Stone had done his job. Silas is a disposable tanking coach, so I don't put much on him. He'll be discarded for a real coach when the Rockets are ready to contend.
Facts. I mean any team can use a Payton 2 or Martin Jr. Shooting is probably the easiest thing to fix. That comes from just practicing at your spots. I honestly didn't think Silas did a good job last year developing a system both offensively and defensively.
Porter can be liked by the majority of his teammates and still be a problem and a distraction. He has a lot of run ins with his coaches and the staff. At some point it becomes too much. He also has had issues with some of his teammates but he has worked them out in most cases. At some point agents and players want to veer their young players away from the organization.
I'm not sure that it matters if the attention a team's star players get annoys some of the bench guys. I like KJ Martin, but in the big picture he's disposable, especially if he can't get along with the team's young stars. Guys like KPJ, Green, and Sengun are the ones that matter.
Even during a tank, you want to see a coach put in a usable system both offensively and defensively. The coach must also set roles and expectations even during a so called tank job. What we have seen in the past, superstar free agents don't got to sorry teams. Even if you're going to build it from the ground up, a system has to be in place to feel like players can succeed.
Not shocked. If you believe the reports, they really love Tate plus they will be drafting more front court players this year, leaving KMJ scrapping for minutes with Mathews. Also, I think Silas wants more passing and motion whereas KMJ is just a guy who stands in the corner or catches lobs.
The Rockets may be able to get a first rounder for Tate. He is the opposite of Christian Wood. He cannot take a large offensive role, but he is the type of role player that a team deep in the playoffs can use and help win games. It would have to be the right team and situation but Tate has more value than most would think. IMO he is wasted on the Rockets. He isn't a long term starter and what he brings is largely lost on a bad team.
I disagree.... but I understand that some Rockets fans oddly fail to recognize the talent of the other two. You guys will come around eventually, it just takes some people longer than others.
Agreed and at 6'4" he is not long enough to play consistent SF/PF minutes.......if his 3 starts falling a contending or complete team can really use him.....but here in Houston, he is a guy that will help, but is wasted here, as we search for the star players to build around, which he is clearly not. DD
KMJ's trade request should be laughed at. A late second round pick still on his rookie deal, who is only good enough to be a backup player on the worst team in the league... he's not in position to ask for a trade.
In what world do we live in? A flippin 2nd rd pick on his rookie contract is asking for a trade? Bro, be happy your actually in the damn league, wtf... This mentality baffles me and tbh id rather have this whack ass energy off the team.
