Chet not providing access to his medicals is a huge red flag. With those concerns he should not even be top 20. Hope he falls out of top 16, that should teach him to be more transparent. Too confident, too skinny and too efficient + no medicals = flop
I want Sengun and PB5 to work…I really do but I don’t see where in the future if the rockets want to seriously contend for a title that they can play together unless one takes a massive step defensively
I think Sengun is going to be a good defender. A mixture of Chuck Hayes, Larry Bird, and Vlade Divac on defense. Right now he is a baby deer out there. Give him 3 or 4 years of an NBA weight room, NBA referee experience, and Chuck Hayes tutelage. I can't remember a single player that has transformed their body as much as Sengun has since he was 16-17 years old. I'd be patient with the teenager. Eventually, Paolo will need his Ariza/Battier/Artest/Tucker/Elie to go alongside him, but I think some are underestimating his size and athleticism around the rim. (I don't think the SF we need is in this draft. I'd be using every damn thing we have within reason to move up a few spots to grab Malaki Branham) For me, the dream draft is: Banchero at 3, Malaki at 13, Kessler at 26... 17+EG for the 13, or something along those lines. Guards were blowing by him and bigs were posting him up. A big liability on switch defense. And Wood was getting rag-dolled by anybody in the paint. I think Pao can stop this bleeding at the 5.
Big Time!! What is Chet hiding??? Geez Louise I really hope that Stone trades up to 1 to secure 7 foot Unicorn Paolo Banchero. Otherwise we may get stuck with Chet "My heart is bad" Holmgren! Chets Dad doesnt want his son to come to Houston! They are forcing their way to Orlando or OKC! Not a culture fit here they think KPJ and Jalen will be a bad influence on him with their painted nails and man purses distracting from his Rocky-esque training that he put on display during the draft process! /S
I'm sure OKC/Hou are in at least a little bit of communication. If OKC is freaked they'll draft either Banchero or Ivey and the Rockets will take the other. The Chet stuff has been *super* mum vs the other two prospects.
Most of that is that no one thinks Chet gets past #2, if he fell and OKC took Banchero, the Rockets would jump at the opportunity to take Chet at #3
