Good this need to be adopted by all sports, at all levels. The loud minority makes this issue seem more controversial than it is, most people feel the same way.

It's the only thing that's fair, and more importantly republicans will shut the f**k up about it. It's a minor, inconsequential issue that they see as the downfall of western society.

 

The law of unintended consequences seems like this will put more pressure on kids/teens to transition early as opposed to waiting until they are adults.

 

I thought the whole point was that we don't want children making rash decisions or adults pushing things on kids?

I support this in theory, but we have to be honest that this creates a different problem.

 

After reading the fine print, it says the athletes must "fully transition" by age 12. So, this isn't a guideline. It's effectively a ban, because that's not really possible/feasible in most places or situations.

As I stated earlier I don't think this is much of a problem but I'm not against the swimming league making the decision themselves rather than have government step in.

 

Little Timmy is a talented aspiring swimmer but is also questioning his gender orientation. Little Timmy and parents now has to make the call to transition before age 12 otherwise be barred from (women's) competitive swimming in the future.

If parents are making that big of a decision based on youth sports, well, maybe the parents need to reevaluate.
