If there was mutual interest, he would have the Lakers job, because he could have had his agent speak to the Lakers. I don't know what Snyder's plans are, but he must not want that to include coaching the Lakers next year.
Was curious on average head coaching experience. Looks to be about 7.5 years (for now). This is before two vacancies (Hornets and Jazz) are filled. The two guys (Kenny and Darvin) who tied best assistants in last year's NBA GM poll are gone. Sometimes it's all about timing. Couple guys off the board if / when Silas leaves Rockets in the future. Long time Celtics assistant (now with Pistons): Jerome Allen (who I think Detroit fans) probably wanted as hier to Dwayne Casey, is now getting poached for the Utah job.
Lol, who the **** cares? Every year "top" "best' assistants are hired to coach terrible teams, and every year the guy who was a "top" " best"assistant 3 years ago is fired. I mean, who was the last coach in Charlotte? Oh yeah, Greg Popovich's right hand man James Borrego, hot commodity from 2018. His career . 447 record not good enough! Time to bring in a real coach, Clutchfans coveted darling Kenny Atkinson and his career . 383. Don't forget Frank Vogel, who Darvin Ham is replacing. Clearly Vogelball is why the Lakers season turned into a barrel of monkeypox. Coaches don't matter that much. It's true. Oh noes - where will we find another recent coach with a bad record and experience coaching bad teams - Might have to go with an inknown commodity
I'm a huge fan of Atkinson, wanted him as the rockets coach when they hired Silas. Atkinson is a very good coach, great with player development and is a tactician. He also manages the same miserable disposition whether his team is up or down, for some reason I love that. Good luck to him
I'm surprised Battier hasn't been hired yet as an HC. I think Becky Hammon is going to be Pop's successor and it's going to be a disaster.
Becky went something like 9-1 in her Las Vegas WNBA team. Best in league history. She took over for old school Bill Lambeer. She's doing well so far. One of the changes, was a la Morey, revamped the offense shooting lot more threes, it's paying dividends in the W/L column. Other news: SI (maybe other outlets). Jazz is looking at Bucks assistant coach Charles Lee. Another from the Bud coaching tree. Charles worked on player development including Dennis Schroeder in his ATL days.
Oh I think Hammond is a great coach. I just don't know how well players, especially younger guys, will want to listen to her. Maybe I'm wrong though IDK.
What in the world... must be either Jordan or Ball related... maybe Kerr doesn't plan on coaching for much longer and he could take over.
