Miguel Ullola in relief for Fayetteville: 3 IP, H, 2 BB, 6 K

In three appearances (1 start) this month, he's allowed one unearned run in 11 innings with 4 hits, 5 walks, and 19 srikeouts.

What's his trade value these days? Could be a main piece? Secondary piece, a throw in? If Click doesn't want to trade Brown, Leon, Lee , and teams then ask for Valdez, would Click trade him before seeing him in the MLB or will Click make him unavailable as well?

His trade value probably varies widely. He came into the season as a fringey prospect who wasn’t even on most Org top 30 lists. So that would probably keep him from being valued like an elite prospect. But he is having an absolutely monster season in the upper levels, which puts him company of former elite prospects. For now I would probably value him as a grade 50 prospect, meaning he could be a complementary piece in a deal for a controllable star or a centerpiece for a controllable complementary big league player or a star rental. But there’s still 6 weeks to the deadline and if Valdez keeps hitting like this then I would raise his value to that of a near-elite prospect. Of course, the Astros probably aren’t waiting on his AAA stats much, since they have a LOT more information that can give them a much clearer idea of if he is fools gold or a potential star player.

There is literally no reason absent size you can’t play 1B if you can competently play middle IF. The reason most teams wouldn’t do that, of course, is because it’s generally stupid to move someone that can play 2B or 3B to 1B, but when you have Altuve/Bregman and Peña locked in for 2.5-6 years, you can trade him or teach him to play 1B. That’s pretty much it for options that make much sense.
What is he 5’10”. That’s pretty short for a 1B. That’s also what bagwell was, right?

His progress as a catcher is great. Nobody cares if he can hit or not. Nobody except us.

That's what I was hoping to hear.

No way he isn't at least equal to Castro and/or Maldy offensively.

If the Astros like his defense then move on to a different potential hole.

Luis Baez hit his first home run for the DSL Orange team today. Baez, an outfielder from the Dominican, received the top bonus in the Astros' 2022 international free agent class.

Waner Luciano with another two-hit day for the Orange team and one of those hits was a two-run double.

For the Blue team, Sandro Gaston hit his second homer of the year and Axell De Paula is 3-3 with a two-run double.

Bags was listed as 6 foot. That being said, it's more about reach than height. Long arms can make up for a couple of inches.

Guy on another board went to see Brown today at RR and said he was straight unhittable filth until he ran out of gas in the 5th. I’d really like to see him in the majors as a 2 or 3 inning guy out of the bullpen starting in August.

The two Astros FCL teams played each other. Colton Gordon pitched his second start, giving up only a single to a rehabbing Marty Costes and striking out two. Also he has an awesome middle name: Zimring.

Emmanuel Valdez got a second start at 1st. It must have been interesting to see the 5'9" Valdez at 1st while the 6'7" Taylor Jones played 3rd. Taylor Jones was credited with a throwing error.

    Pedro Leon k/bb% by month:
    April 33%/14%
    May 31%/16%
    June 24%/10%

Not sure what to make of that.

Also, he has a 593 ops against lefties, 890 against righties.

Not looking at advanced stats but my guess is his contact rate is up with better pitch selection. Thus fewer walks.

My guess too. I think if he can maintain that kind of k/bb rates long term he’d take a step up offensively and project as an above average mlb hitter.

Fayetteville has the only run so far thanks to Leosdany Molina's RBI single.

Victor Mascai homered (8) for the second straight day; he also hit a home run in the second game of Fayetteville's doubleheader yesterday.

The average could be better, but if it's in the .220s with an OPS in the .750-.780 range, he'll get some time to figure it out.
