Green, Porter and Bancheros is our dream team next year and we are going to be in the PLAY IN next year....

By the way, I just heard that Bancheros was measured at 6'10.5 without shoes???? That mean he is almost 7 feet tall with shoes!!!! YES!!!!

If we land Banchero (best case scenario), I agree KPJ doesn’t need to be a 6th man to be a valuable asset to our starting lineup provided his contract is nothing more than MLE. Otherwise we’re going to need an actual point guard and I’d rather use the cap space on an established star or a true playmaker at the very least. Jalen Green, like KPJ is best suited off ball and we have yet to truly unlock him. How long are the rockets going to play street ball?

Or that the majority of fans on message boards are unable to see - while some of us do see it.

Most current and former NBA stars are praising Banchero. Yet he’s consensus 3rd selection. What are they seeing that teams don’t see? At any rate, the guy can have all the talent in the world. It doesn’t mean he’s played well outside of a few stretches of games or that he fits well with what the Rockets are building going forward.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that even Brandon Jennings had more success in KPJ’s role and usage at the same age. I’m not falling for empty stats on usage that isn’t sustainable resulting in mediocre numbers on bad efficiency on the worst team in the league. And I’m just focusing on his strengths…

Aside from his end of the year push, as a talented scorer he had averaged 12ppg on .42 shooting with extremely high usage. That is a much larger sample size. That isn’t even close to good. How do you hoist 7 3’s a game and think that is an efficient result? That sample size is significantly larger than a stretch of games in silly season against teams that essentially had given up or at best were resting players for playoffs.

How does he even come close to that with less usage? Unless the Rockets are that stupid, the usage is unsustainable. Houston let him play like James Harden to see what they had in a year where we were the worst team in the NBA and experimented. It’s not like his numbers were even average for that kind of usage. Let’s just be real for once.

A lot will depend on whether we choose Ivey or one of the 3 bigs available with our 1st pick. Ivey is probably more like the prototypical combo guard in today's game and would make our backcourt lethal. Question is - would we keep KPJ and slide him over to 3 or trade him?

Ivey really was never in consideration despite the rather hilarious hype. He's just an undersized SG with a questionable shot who can't run the point.

His fantasy would be to eventually be a good as KPJ likely is this season.... it would mean he developed a shot, learned to run the point, and improved defensively.

The first Rockets pick was always going to be whatever big man drops.

Oh here we go! You guys were talking that play in noise last year too. How'd that work out?

Nope. Still going to be a bottom 3 team in the league this year. It won't be until 2023 that we even attempt to make the play in.

Did you watch the games or are you just a stat hound? Wood had great stats and sucked. It was obvious that when Wood sat, Green and KPJ flourished and will be fantastic next year.

I think he's just an overzealous Jalen Green fan who is jealous of the close relationship KPJ and Green have our something weird like that.

There simply no getting to those hot takes without strong cognitive bias.

Yes I watched all Rockets games. I’m just old enough to not be enamored by “flash”. He’s certainly talented but when you realize the kind of freedom and usage he was afforded (which was obvious from just watching games)he wasn’t even an average scorer thrust into that role. The Rockets did the right think trying it out. One thing is for sure, despite his improvements, he’s not a playmaker. I know that specifically from watching him play as he repeatedly pissed me off with his inability to make simple plays for others. As long as he’s a Rocket I’m rooting for him and hoping he can improve. He’s still young. I’m of the belief that we cannot win anything with him starting at PG and he’s best suited as a scoring combo guard off the bench. It’s also astounding to me the short memory always with people. This is a guy everyone was willing to cut. Plenty of scrubs go off in silly season, hence the name. Let’s just be realistic here.

Victor is going to be un- guardable if his jump shot translates.

Most on reddit/rockets are fairly high on him as being part of the core. They at least acknowledge his development and potential with Green as a backcourt

Getting back on topic, Killian Hayes is an emancipated homeless man's version of Cade Cunningham, and will be out of the league within the next few years, so no.

KPJ is a scorer/ passer. The Rockets can select TyTy at 17 as his backup. He's a better passer, but he’s not as talented as him.
    No to Killian Hayes.

No I'm saying where Killian Hayes got drafted has no impact on where he is now as a player. Bennett is a scrub doesnt mstter if he was former no 1. Hayes is a scrub doesnt mstter if he was former no 5.

Let Hayes play a full season? Dude played 60 gsmes last year aint thst enough? He played 20 games the prior year too so 60+20 thats one full season. I take the guy scoring 0.415 over the guy scoring 0.318 anyday. KPJ through all his downs at least he has some ups like scoring 50 pts. Hayes hasnt done **** except throw blanks up in the air.

You think it is astounding people love the 0.415 guy then why are you boosting the 0.318 guy? Which percentage you think is higher?

Ps. I find it ironic the video you posted with the guy saying he isnt a bust is from the ringer, the same dude who said he'd take Hayes no 1 LMAO. Can you spell bias? In a redraft you think Pistons take him no 5 yes or no? If people knew Hayes would spend his first year injured then his second year shooting 31% from the field where you think he'd be drafted? There's your answer if he is a bust or not.

Pistons fans already calling his bad off season training and fear there will be regression,, Hayes is not the answer the only thing we have to worry about with KPJ is if he can mature not his game on the court.

We’re going after Wemby. 23-24 is the time to go for a play in/off spot.
