I have had them and actually almost died from one on my neck. It had burrowed down into my chest without anyone noticing. One day it went from a very small bump I had for years to something the size of a golf ball that required immediate surgery in the ER. You can let it ride but be aware that they can suddenly rapidly increase in size. They had to cut it open with a scalpel and then wick it and I was in the hospital for days.
It was that the cyst got so infected so quickly. I was told to immediately go in and have it drained and removed as the infection was spreading rapidly. Painful as hell, but I should be ok. They left it open and told me to come in tomorrow to have it closed up. Fell like I got freaking stabbed, which technically, I guess happened.
When I was about 25 I went in for a regular checkup. The last thing you want to hear, as the doc is doing the ball check, is "hmmmm". It was a lump, I was terrified. He said "don't worry, it's probably a....". I heard none of this outside of "lump" "testicle". Stressful 48 hours. Went to the urologist a couple of days later, ultrasound and whatnot..."nah, you're fine. It's a small cyst in one of the tubes due to natural causes. It happens. It'll go away in a bit." And it did. Oh: go to the doctor for checkups more often. Just shutup and do it.
