Boston is not going back to another finals again, a healthy bucks team with kris Middleton is beating them, it took Grant williams and Payton Pritchard going off to beat the bucks in game seven, No other team in the west is going to be able to beat the warriors, Suns are going to lose ayton to because of their cheap owner, you pretty much have to wait the next four to five years, I want the rockets to be the next dynasty team so we need to tank one more year and hope we can get the #1 pick and Draft Victor a Core of Green, Paolo and Victor if all of them hit their peak/prime will be unbeatable in a seven game series.

The thread is obviously absurd, but watching the Warriors celebrate last night with the same core of three they drafted forever ago, it's a good reminder that you can still build great teams through the draft. With Green, Sengun and likely Banchero, I'm genuinely excited about this group's future in a way I've never really gotten to experience as a Rockets fan because it's been decades since they've tried to build through the draft. No clue if this core will win rings, but I can't wait to see them 4-5 years from now when they're competitive.

I think there are multiple teams out East better than the Warriors with a healthy Milwaukee squad at the top. In the West, Phoenix depends on if they can keep Ayton and not choke in the postseason, but I think Memphis is way ahead of where I thought they'd be and a healthy Denver team with Murray and MPJ could be the most talented team in the league.

Right now the Warriors are Curry and role players who are overpaid, but play damn good defense. There are teams out there with mutiple stars who are just as deep. It's just a matter of staying healthy and not crapping the bed in the playoffs.

Murray has not played basketball in two years and he is not as good of a shooter as Klay, I can't see him returning to form. We don't even know if MPJ will be able to recover from his back surgery (that he happened to get after he was able to get his max contract) we again don't know how he will look once he starts playing again or if the surgery really fixed his back. Memphis is a talent team but They don't have a second star to pair with Ja they got to good to fast, and Suns are not keeping Ayton he is pretty much done with the suns and the owner is cheap and doesn't want to pay him. the west is going to be the warriors conference until they get to old.

Why? So that they can beat us over the head with it?

Do your thing OP!!! We need more optimistic fans and those whom would rather operate in a realm of positivity, belief and some good old fashioned fanaticism whether it be unrealistic or not. Reminds me of an old SI cover of the Astros in 2015 declaring them 2017 World Champs and everyone ridiculing the thought. Houston sport fans can be the most jaded and cynical (rightfully so) but letting go and screaming into the void is awesome. Another homerun or two in the draft and this idea wont be so far fetched.

    I hate the Warriors....but I respect them.

Team construct is how I would build the Rockets.

They have to decide what they are going to do with Otto Porter and
Gary Payton II and Looney; but they probably add more Moody, Kuminga and
Wiseman next season as they always retool. Klay will be healthier
    as well.

You can both be positive about the team and not expect to win a title until GSW's core is actually done.

Curry was drafted in 2009 and it wasn't until 5-6 years later that they became such a force. But fans these days want instant gratification, as if Jalen Green and whoever the #3 overall pick this year is, will get us a title in the next 2 years.

People need to temper their expectations.

Sure - but our fanbase HERE has turned into a toxic cesspool of jaded bullies and gatekeepers. Do we need to destroy every post we dont agree with? Ribbing him for his Rocket blinders is one thing - truth is the Rockets probably wont be very good next year, but I actually enjoy fans who havent been demoralized to the point of always looking to be offended and treating this franchise like trash either because they hate the owner, coach or GM. Staying negative all the time is exhausting dont you think? I salute the OP for going out on the limb of positivity even when most consider it delusional.

All true, but it'd be nice if the optimism was backed by logic and reasoning. Same thing with pessimism.

Adding reasons why one is optimistic about the Rockets will win you lots of imaginary internet points. Just saying "Houston is going to win a title next year! Golden State better watch out!" and leaving it at that, just invites ridicule.

Again that bothers you if you let it bother you. Childlike optimism is welcome in my world. Take care.

Sure. If ignorance is bliss is your thing, let your flag fly.

The fact that you have to qualify optimism with 'childlike' though, is just extremely telling.

You're giving OP way too much credit. They posted 3 threads using 2 accounts and one of the threads was a copy of the other. They were just drunk.

Also, there's a lot less toxic people here than you give credit. You just so happen to spend hours giving them what they want -- attention. There's a rule on the internet: don't feed the trolls. We don't need to "keep them in check"... just ignore them.
