To everyone hoping the Rockets will package this pick (26) to move up from 17..... It isn't very likely, because moving up from 17 is very expensive. Perhaps they can move up to 15 or something along those lines, but this late pick isn't getting you up to #10-11 like some hope.

I won't call the #26 pick worthless, because it isn't but it isn't a game changer. The hope will be to trade it to another team for a future #1 with limited protections (top 15) or to take a player the Rockets think has a chance to be a rotation piece down the line.

My gut is that the Rockets may take one of the point guards in this draft at #26. Ty Ty Washington has a slight chance of slipping. Others are Kennedy Chandler, Dalen Terry, Jean Montero. They could also go with an international player or take a huge flier on Patrick Baldwin or Trevor Keels.

Again I’m happy for Wood that he is going to shine in a much better situation, and I’m happy for the Rockets that they got as much as they could even though unfortunately it wasn’t much, and I’m especially happy for my favorite player on the team, Sengun, locking up minutes and his spot. What is silly to me is all these idiots cheering for the wrong reason. Wood chose to sign with Houston, to play with Harden and make a name for himself. Instead he ends up with Porter jr and a rookie Green, chuckers who can’t hit a PnR pass to save their lives, and you wonder why he had a bad attitude at times? Cuz the entire situation stunk. Yet he was still the only one sticking up for Sengun all year long lobbying for more minutes. That showed me he was not a selfish guy and actually cared for his teammates, at least the ones who didn’t mind passing the ball once in awhile.

What was the rockets record that year without him? Better or worse than 9-12?

#1 defense is predicated on the strength of your teammates as well

#2 that series is an outlier . Go watch all the games again if you dare . After game 1 And 2 they started letting Dort just ****ing maul harden . If Tate had that leeway he’d be insane too . Look at how nick young of all people managed to guard harden in the playoffs ... cause they let him brutalize him .

Tate is better handling , passing , scoring around the bucket than Dort . His shot is objectively worse . But I have hope lol . Dorts teammates were much better than Tate’s this year . dort hasn’t played as many games and has a smaller role . Getting one of those top 3 in place of wood is gonna make our team much stronger

And Dort is just a bit better shooter than Tate? C’mon man…

Dort is almost 3% better from 3 on significantly higher volume…Dort is a career 80% free throw shooter, Tate is a career 70% free throw shooter

Dort is also shooting 43% on corner threes the last 2 years

    Tate? 32%

Dort is on the level of a Marcus Smart as a shooter…percentages aren’t that good, but he is willing to take, and is capable of making shots…teams still try to closeout on the jump shot

Tate is close to Westbrook level as a shooter…teams completely ignore him and don’t even bother to contest

There was a huge difference actually. You just can’t see it because you are blind. Go ahead, tell us the win%

Are we really going to take 3 more rookies this year after 4 last year? Do we even have the roster space if it wasn’t to move up?

He kept saying he could play WITH Sengun because he knew the Rockets would not trade Sengun and he wanted to get PAID.

Now the reality will set in.... he will have to play hard and actually set picks, and not smile and snicker when he doesn't rotate and has his own teammates posterized.

nope there isn't. only a wood only fan would think otherwise when you suck both ways. And we've seen 2 years of it

but fans of losers obviously don't see that great

    It depends.

I am sure they are hoping that a team will see a player they want at #26 and give up a future #1 with limited protections.

Having said that, I wouldn't count out a lot of guys on the roster right now being moved.

stop it…Dort’s teammates are ass aside from SGA who has missed significant time the past 2 years and rookie Giddey

this post is just a bunch of excuses…Tate is never defending Harden like Dort did, he is simply not capable

Dort had a larger role than Tate this year because OKC has less offensive talent than the Rockets…OKC has been dead last in offensive rating the past 2 years

Wood was saying good things about Sengun since preseason, because Sengun was the only one on the team who was actually looking to pass to him. People criticize Wood for going iso too much, none of the guards were capable of creating an easy bucket for him yet he still ended up with great efficiency. Playing with Luka will bring his efficiency to elite levels. (Like the 70%ts he had post allstar break)

Wood is a mixed bag, not everything about him is bad.... and he was on a bad team last year. Unfortunately he doesn't have a motor on him.

Are people serious? Could have gotten more ?

Wind back to the deadline, houston got similar offers for wood.

fast track to now, same offers are there.

If 29 other GMs wouldn’t give up better than 26, with also us not taking ANY salary pass what would was contracted too.

Why the hell is Christian Wood worth a lottery pick?

Teams wouldn’t draft him in the second round 6 years ago, now his worth a late first rounder.

But ofcourse his worth soo much more because he puts up 20/10 on the worst team in the league 2 years straight…

go stay head Tate vs Dort and realize Tate is the better player now and has been . Dorts never played more than 60 games a year . Tate in his second season has more rebounds , assists , played 20 more games , significantly more efficient player , and only shot 2 % less from 3 .

Dort fans look back at that one playoffs series .. which , watch it again . Dort was murdering harden .

but what has he done besides pump scoring numbers on a bad team .

just this year tate took over a game vs OKC and put up like 32/10/7/4 and locked down on D .

as if Tate hasn’t also been pumping his numbers in garbage time on a bad team…

Dort dropped 34 on the Rockets this season…Dort dropped 42 at Utah last year…

Dort has scored at least 20 points 25 times the past 2 seasons. Tate? A whopping 11…

and that’s with Tate playing in 40 more games

more excuses…Tate could never defend Harden like that, period

I am talking to a guy who said his comparison for Tate is Chauncey Billups…

To be this much of a Tate super fan, are u his cousin or something?

Here's another way to look at this trade.

Would you rather have the 26th pick in this year's draft, or keep Christian Wood another year and let him walk at the end?
