To package the pick to potentially move up. If Mark Williams is gone, would love to combine #17 with #26 to move up and snag Eason.
You did a helluva job throughout the Playoffs this season of making people realise you don't have the best basketball takes. This is just another example of that. herp derp look at those numbers. Never mind he didn't like sharing the spotlight on the court. Never mind he didn't want to play with youngers. Never mind his terrible work ethic defensively. Never mind him committing one of the worst things you can do in a team environment. Never mind him literally sulking on the court when he felt slighted BY HIS OWN TEAM. No one cares about your whack ass perspective when it's so clearly illogical.
Didn't you hear what? NONE of that matters when you average 19 and 10 and shoot like that from 3. NONE OF IT! That is closer to an MVP than it is to a player you dump. Right Krusty? I mean what
Addition by subtraction. Maybe Wood could've been a piece if we had a coach worth a damn who could put him in his place, but we got Silas. Next step, remove Silas.
Empty stats. Doesn’t help us win. Doesn’t help us develop our young guys. You don’t want young guys picking up anything from this guy. He’s a cancer … he’s a loser and his value as a late first rounder is evident by what we got for him, if you don’t think stone gauged every team in the league for value then you are crazy.
So after checking some sites that determine that value of the picks, it seems like we should be able to move to the 9-11 range with the 17th and the 26th pick. Here we should definitely be able to get Eason or Williams. I wouldn’t mind staying out and drafting like Jovic and Sotto though - lots of options here. And: what about Gordon and Wall now?
If this was the pick we could have gotten at the deadline and you got it now .... and were able to explore other, potentially better options ... seems like a positive to me. Nothing lost here but a few days on the calander
Yeah I'll correct myself on that one. I meant to say I hoped the Rockets had gotten more out of trading Wood. I do agree his trade value wasn't all that high. But I think Dallas will get a lot more out of him than the Harden-less Rockets did last season.
I think he could have gotten a better pick if he were willing to take back contracts with longer commitments. The fact that he was not willing to do that tells me that he wants maximum cap space available for 2023. He’ll either be going after multiple free agents, or leaving open the possibility of trading for a max player and taking them into cap space for picks rather than forcing bad contracts on the other team (which will be more desirable to their trade partner).
Yeah, not taking back any long term salary was a big deal here .... I doubt any of them make the opening day roster.
No he didn't. Wood is overrated and a head case. He's not a winning player. Defensively Dallas is still trash. They not going as far as they did this year... watch.
I’m good with the trade. Maybe Boban is the only player retained and the rest will be released. I do like Burke though as a good bench player. Dallas gave up a first rounder for a 1 year rental of a mediocre player is what the trade actually is.
The Rockets also got the protected pick from the Pistons and a future second, so that's not completely accurate. And the Pistons pick was half of the trade that got them Sengun.
