Talk of Wood doing that for the Mavs should then bring you pure euphoria, then. :D

Boban has officially been on all three Texas NBA teams.

Maybe. I think it's more complicated than that. I personally think Wood is a very selfish player who, if on a bad team, doesn't care what anyone tells him and wants a bigger role than he deserves. I think if he is moved into an environment where he really buys into the system and plays in a non selfish way that says more about Wood than it does about the coach.

They are only amazing when they are not playing for Houston.

i think we should see what happens with the pick before passing judgement. I agree with you it’s not a magnificent trade; no one is gonna confuse Stone for a deal maker extraordinaire. That was clear with Oladipo. But I do think people where unrealistic on Wood’s value with his attitude issues. There are just too many other bigs out there without those questions, and that also play defense.

Stone clearly didn’t sell high on Wood, but he did avoid making a big mistake by holding onto him any longer. We needed to move on and we got market value for him.

You and I can just agree to disagree, and that's OK. Moving Wood needed to happen sooner rather than later. He clashed with the young guys, he was hogging possessions and taking away minutes from bigs who actually needed to develop. Also, even with his value taking a hit after last season, he was capable of getting the Rockets a first rounder, which should be valuable ammunition in trading up with that second draft prick. We don't know Gordon's worth, he's not hurting the development of the young core, and he doesn't clash with the young guys. You're not forced to move him at the moment if a deal's not there.

If a Gordon deal presents itself that feels like a significant boost to the rebuilding core, you make it and don't think twice about it. But you're operating under the assumption that a deal like that is out there; I'm not.

I agree even if 26 + whatever doesn't get Stone up higher in this years draft I can see them trade down from there for some 2nd round stash players that haven't turned the corner yet or maybe somebody they really like falls to 26, lost of young talent in that 3rd tier of guys after top 15 players that could pan-out as solid pros. What if Jalen Williams type falls or TYTY? The Rockets might find a really nice prospect. There are many more trades to come maybe even the Rockets again. This is great news because this is about the future.

I would have been happy if we traded him for just Chriss, and then cut that scrub. I have to go to church on Sunday and say thanks for answering my prayers.

The big market is going to get pretty hot, Rockets essentially undercut someone else so that they wouldn't be holding the bag. Remember, this is a contract year. You'd get even less as the season goes on.

He simply doesn't have the value people think he does. That's why he's just now playing meaningful mintues, NBA teams know that despite the numbers he's simply not it.

I get we’re rebuilding and we’re really just looking to dump Wood somewhere, but I really wish Stone would get better value back in return for the assets he trades off. I’m guessing we’re going to package pick 17 & 26 to move up which is interesting but the other guys will probably be cut outside of maybe Burke and Boban (maybe)

Again, 1st round deals for Gordon were already out there previously. We know that already because Clutch posted it

Wood's trade value had dropped that his 18 and 8 didn't amount to much. I'm glad that we are getting back expiring contracts. The 26th and the 17th give us a chance to move upto 10.

Aaron Brooks was a former #26 pick.

Idk why people think Wood’s value is much higher than what we received

CF stays overrating what we got to offer

“I don’t want Herro for Oladipo”…meanwhile, Dipo’s value was nowhere close

“Russ for the 3rd pick from Charlotte or the 8th pick from the Knicks”…meanwhile his value is John Wall who hadn’t played in a year

    “John Wall for Kyrie Irving”

I believe a player is worth a first round pick when a player gets dealt for a first round pick. Not calling Clutch a liar, whatsoever, but intel comes from all over the place, and not all if it turns out to be accurate. If Gordon gets dealt for a first, amazing. I will believe that when the trade happens.

You can win with Tate as a rotation player. Wood? Not so sure.
