    Got a FRP for Wood. Can’t ask for much more than that tbh. Now have 3 FRP’s, 2 can be used to move up and draft another stud. I like it..

    I'm torn on this.

    Positives:
    1) Wood is gone. The Rockets would've made a huge mistake resigning him(and I doubt they wanted to).
    2) This paves the way for Sengun and either Paolo or Chet to play starters minutes next season.
    3) More touches for Jalen.
    4) All of the contracts acquired also come off the books after next season.

    Negatives:
    1) He goes to a division rival. Yeah, I know we suck right now, but if we're good in a couple years, it could hurt us. And Dallas had no cap room to upgrade their team, so we just helped them via one of the few avenues they had to upgrade their roster.
    2) It feels like we should've gotten way more.

    Neutral:
    1) Is there a good player who's projected to be available at #26?
    2) Are #17 and #26(and maybe Tate and/or Milwaukee's first rounder next year) enough to trade up into the lottery?

    I can't remember the last time the Rockets made a trade that upgraded a team in their division, let alone upgraded a rival like the Mavericks.

    Lucky we're still tanking, I guess

    Mavs will be worse with Cristian Wood. It's a guarantee. For every extra point he scores the other team will score 5 more cuz he's on the court not boxing out. Or doing anything it takes to be a good team player. Luka will be pissed at him by the deadline where he will get traded again along with more firsts for a real player.

    Agree on all the points. I was OK with Wood gone, but not necessarily want him to do us in, in a Mavs jersey no less.

    Regular season games will be interesting. He will be motivated.

    Our FO has shown a serious deficiency in moving assets at the wrong time. Wood should have been gone last off season, really the 2021 deadline.

    Meh. Here’s to hoping we can package 17, 26, and/or Gordon to move up. That’ll make me feel a little better about the trade.
