There's a lot of White Supremacist type hate groups in the state. I don't know if you can reason with people fueled by that kind of hate. I'm sure many were raised with those beliefs, and will pass them on to their kids. Their party is the GOP. They identify more with those types. I don't even think members of hate groups should be allowed to own a gun. That should be a disqualification. It's like giving them firepower to kill the ones they hate.
The GOP should just rename itself the Christian Crusade Party that seeks to impose state religion on all people of America.
