You're right, hopefully they can move up to 15 at least. If they can't I think you have to go with a guard if he's BPA, or seriously think of trading down for a future asset.
At least Chet can dribble in space. Yikes Jabari just looks so awkward and uncoordinated with the ball. (I know I know its only one play out of the ether, but still cmon man )
Nobody knows yet is this draft is weaker than usual and even if it is that still does not make picks 17 and 35 anywhere near comparable. 17 is not late 1st if you cannot even recognize that you really are just reaching, rotation guys and low-end starters are not easily replaceable its why guys after the lottery and the 2nd round rarely even make the team until their 2nd contracts. I have no idea why you are still beating this drum you are talking about moving up one spot and claiming it's about star power when everybody and their mother is telling you all 3 guys have star power. Dude you are talking about moving from 3 to 2 as if that is a separate tier.
I think top 2 is a half tier better and worth moving from 17 to 34 in the long run. I prefer 2 way players and I don't think paolo is that. Even if I'm wrong, being abrasive won't change my mind.
So you think moving from near lottery to the 2nd round is worth ahalf a tier? Even when history shows that you are more likely to get a rotational player at 17 than 35? I don't know what's abrasive about pointing out the facts? The consensus is that the 3 players at the top of the draft are on one tier and you are far more likely to get a good player at 17 than 35 those are facts, I don't know what is abrasive about that. Add in the fact that you can possibly buy a pick in that range and it makes even less sense if a guy is there you really like or trade one of the myriad of 1st round picks you have going forward like Milwaukee since you think those late 1st round picks are worth about the same. It just does not make any sense even if you like 2 way players, you should judge players on thier overall skill set and balance what they do both offensivley as well as defensivley. So I guess you would take Klay over Steph since he is a 2 way player or Wiggins for that matter?
This is interesting. I don't think the cavs would let the rockets have mobley and ivey though ClutchFans on Twitter: "In theory: Would a swap of #3 picks, sending Paolo Banchero to the Cavs and Evan Mobley to the #Rockets (including whatever else to balance it out), help both teams? (Just a discussion, #LetEmKnow)" / Twitter
I would take klay over randle. there are no steph's in this draft. I would even take Klay over Randle and an MLE guy which we can hope to draft at 17. I apologize if you didn't mean to come off as abrasive, but when you respond with "if you can't recognize..." and "I don't know why you're still..." you make the argument about me rather than our topic. that can come off as abrasive. state your counterpoint without making it about the person you're debating. that creates a stronger argument and sounds less argumentative. friendly advise. with that said. lets lay this to rest. I would make the trade and you wouldn't. we can both root for the rockets to have a great draft whatever they do.
Who the hell is Randle in this equation? If you are still comparing Banchero to Randle then you really don't have a clue and it's interesting that you don't really value 2-way players more you seem to be fitting what you value to the player you like the most. I said nothing abrasive you just seem to have thin skin when somebody pushes back on your argument. Stonger argument less argumentative? Um what? Anyway, it still makes zero sense to trade the 17th pick in this draft to move up one spot and I will continue to say so and history is on my side no matter how you twist it.
not sure why the Cavs would even entertain that…that would be an absolute steal for the Rockets Allen and Mobley worked really well together…Cavs had a 103.7 defensive rating with both of them on the court…Boston led the league at 106.2 Cavs were 33-19 with both of them in the lineup aside from the terrible optics of trading away a player like Mobley after he just almost won ROY, to do it for Paolo would be crazy Stone would be committing robbery in broad daylight with no mask
You seem to really care about my opinion on this. we can have differing opinions without trying to convince the other person that they are wrong or trying to put each other down. we disagree. Lets let it go and root for the rockets.

Paolo Banchero — When you watch Banchero's film, it's hard to believe he's not the hands-down top pick in this draft. A player of that size with his mobility, handle, touch and playmaking ability is extremely hard to find. The one thing holding him back is his 3-point shot, but he certainly has the mechanics and confidence to eventually develop that part of his game with the right coaching staff. Houston will gladly take him at No. 3 as another foundational piece to pair with dynamic guard Jalen Green. 17. Ousmane Dieng — The Rockets aren't going to compete for a title any time soon, so taking a big swing here on Dieng seems reasonable. The upside is huge for the 6-10 wing with incredible ball-handling, playmaking and shot-creating potential, but it's going to be a while until the 19-year-old is ready to contribute on a consistent basis in the NBA. That's just fine for the Rockets, who are in the asset collection business for the foreseeable future.
LMAO .. is this Dave's burner account? You and him share some very funny passive aggressive petty ass takes. Super entertaining keep it up!
