JC as a small 3 behind Barnes for a year..

Mitchell and Ivey are plus defenders in theory while Porter is solid and Green likely to get better.

    Injuries happen too...

Thinking in terms of reloading some ammunition to move up in a future draft... just not sold on Banchero as a superstar... maybe John Collins level player...

Just a thought... not sold on it...

Does Portland have the cap room to absorb Nwaba's 4.6 M contract? I want to acquire their 36th pick and select Jaylin Williams. Portland wants vets.

im still very high on Garuba. People keep screaming for size, rebounding and defense. Garuba could provide all 3. Im excited to see what he can do over the course of a full healthy season. He looked really good in the small ball center role towards the end of last year, and I’d like see him in that role again next year, tag teaming with Sengun.

the bottom line is regardless of what we do with Wood, we need to create some minutes at the center position for Garuba next season. We need to really see what we have.

    To Blazers
    Wood
    Korkmaz
    Tate
    #17, # 23

    To Rockets
    Bledsoe
    Milton
    Green
    Reed
    #7

    To Sixers
    Gordon

Blazers get a haul for #7. Rockets clear out older players and consolidate draft assets to higher quality pick. Sixers get a useful backup who could start in a small lineup for a late one and Green's expiring.

We end up with #7 without compromising cap space...

We give up a lot for #7 so maybe we get another pick a few years down the road from Portland that is top 5 or 10 protected... they are trying to win now anyways...

I really like Garuba along with Christopher. I think the rockets hit on Garuba and if he sticks around will contribute a lot.

I'd probably be cool with this if it's Keegan Murray at 7, but I'm really warming up to the idea of keeping Gordon around as our fan-favorite veteran that shows our young guys how to be professional.

Let say we draft Banchero and trade Wood and Gordon for a C like Turner or Ayton.

This coming season we play around .500 ball but miss the playin and end up around 14th pick.

With max cap space in 2023 would you offer a big $ perhaps max deal to Andrew Wiggins? He’s fit in well in GS surrounded by stars/scorers. If Green and Banchero hit their ceilings I think he’d be great here.

The free agency crop is underwhelming in 2023, and we likely won't be a premier destination for free agents. I think the play is to provide cap relief to other teams to shape up our roster to make our playoff/play-in push next offseason. We use our cap space to take on salary of overpaid players, and receive draft capital for our trouble. Ideally, we can get guys like Gordon Hayward: 1 year left on the deal, and can contribute.

damn, great trade by OKC. Presti just keeps piling up those future assets.

let it be said that those who don’t believe late first rounders in this draft have value are just dead wrong. Presti just got a mid-late 1st in 2027 for #30 and a couple 2nd rounders.

Yeah, Garuba is the wild card that could solve a lot of this young core's problems. I'd like to see him paired in the frontcourt in different lineups with Banchero and Sengun this season. I'm not sure all three of those guys can play together, but I'd be intrigued to see if it's possible. Bottom line, Wood needs to go so we can actually give all three a chance to grow this year.

How crazy would this place get if OKC goes Ivey at 2 and Houston STILL picks Paolo over Chet?? Yeesh!
