Chet is an elite defender, including on the perimeter. He is a superb athlete, mobility, hip movement and great overall speed. Just stop with this stuff, you are way too obvious all of the time. If Chet was a darker skin tone you would be all over taking him.
Atkinson had worse and just as young talent on the Nets and he was much more competitive and actually ran recognizable offense and defense. And he never had emotional breakdown in front of media.
It really seemed like as bad as the nets were at that time that they were trending in a very good direction. They even had a decent playoff showing relative to their overall talent. I really thought they could have built something special with Atkinson and his firing was a big mistake imo. Probably should have never brought Kyrie into that organization either.
Those Nets teams he had were more talented then the rockets teams Silas is coaching. Edit: Kenny's first two seasons were a 20 and 62 season and second season 28 and 54.
Other than a very young but not yet productive JA, who was better than Green, EGo, KPJ, Wood, Wall, Tate even Sengun? Nevermind some of the vets that Silas had like Harden, Dipo, Olynyk, even Theis. Again, KA had more wins with less talent.
Harden was checked out and came in overweight, Dipo was pretty much coming off another serious injury, Olynyk and Theis are role players. Brooke lopez in 2017 is better then wood and rookie Sengun, then Jarrett Allen joined the Nets(following the draft) the following year Kenny in both his first season had a better Center then the rockets. D'Angelo joined the second year and Prime D'angelo> is better then KPJ because Prime D'angelo is an all star.
If OKC take Paolo or trades with someone who wants Paolo - I’d be upset, Chet is not the guy and will be injured and break our hearts (scarred fan from Yao and Sampson)
Bradley and the others you mentioned probably aren't the best comparisons to Chet but it's probably a little dismissive to say Bradley and Bol weren't HALF the players Chet is. Bradley was a 14.8pt/7.7rb/5.2blk guy at BYU and Bol averaged 21pts/9.6rbs/2.7blk. It's not like they were terrible prospects. Honestly, I don't see anyone in this draft having proven to be a top tier talent yet. History shows that one or more of them probably will go on to be great but it's not like Chet was dominant in college the way Durant was.
Thunder are a perfect team for him, they only have two pieces, and they have done a three guard line up before.
not saying Chet is as good as Durant. Was just saying that many prospects with frame questions have gone on to be great nba players.
interesting. Okc has the assets and draft capital to come away with one of the big 3 and Sharpe. Presti could own this draft if he wants to. Another interesting story-line for draft night.
Kenny Atkinson went from 20, to 28, to 42 wins with a Nets team that had little to no high end talent and barely any draft capital he had a bunch of castaways, non-lotto picks, and guys looking for 2nd chances Rockets meanwhile are the B2B L champion having long stretches in both seasons where they played markedly worse than the Process Sixers the Nets offensive and defensive rankings improved each year…their point differential went from -6.7, to -3.7, to -0.1…and that was all while having a bottom of the barrel roster clear improvement each year before team wrecker Kyrie joined
Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter: "ESPN Sources: Denver is trading F JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first-round pick to Oklahoma City for the No. 30 pick in this month’s NBA Draft and two future second-round picks. Nuggets have No. 21 and 30 in this draft now and Thunder has Nos. 2, 12 and 34." / Twitter ClutchFans on Twitter: "Textbook OKC move. Punt on a late first because they don't have the ability to take four rookies on the roster." / Twitter Bobby Marks on Twitter: "The $8.2M JaMychal Green salary for 2021/22 does not impact the minimum salary floor for the Thunder. The Thunder are projected to have $22.7M that will get distributed among their players." / Twitter
Not a surprise OKC has to many picks and will have limited roster spots going forward they have to unload picks at some point.
