Did you think Howard was the missing piece after he played two seasons in Houston? Maybe you are giving too much credit to some players.

JUST STOP WITH THIS STUFF - we aren't getting him.....even if we tank with the worst record, we aren't likely to get him.

    Tanking doesn't work anymore....

I'll happily tank one more year for a shot at a player who can make that big a difference.

I’d rather not tank a 14% shot at a guy who already has a pretty extensive injury history given his young age.

i agree with this sentiment. We’ve finished last for two years now and we beat the odds by getting #2 and #3. Look at what happened to Detroit this year. We can talk about tanking odds late in the season because beating tanking teams doesn’t help us. But I think u play to win next year and see what things look like towards the end of the season. Tanking from game 1 just doesn’t come close to guaranteeing you’ll have a top pick anymore. And if you finish anywhere in the lotto you still have a real chance at a top pick.

A broken finger and shoulder blade contusions are what hindered him this year. Something tells me 32/32 teams in the NBA wont be worried about that too much. The stress fracture in his leg happened 2 years ago - lucky for him he was a spry 16 year old and it hasnt shown to limit him at all so far. Fair to bring them up though so not trying to diminish the concern.

Even with all that known you still have reputable draft guys who dont blink when talking about him.

When Howard first sign. Afterwards, I think we all knew he wasn't the missing piece.

The finger and shoulder were one of three injuries this year. He was also shut down early due to an unspecified muscle issue. That’s four injuries in two years for an eighteen year old. Obviously he’s the #1 prospect, but he scares me.

Thank you!! I do not understand why people want to tank in the NBA....It doesn't work, unless there are 5, FIVE, CINCO Generational players in the draft! The NFL is different but in the NBA to tank year after year is ridiculous. Just look at Sac, Char. and others. who have sucked for years.

You build with a good scouting team, who can find players in the draft but also with a good GM who can make good trades and good FA signings.

Totally understandable. If he was dealing with foot fractures or ankle issues yea I would be digging deeper. Broken fingers, shoulder boo boos and muscle contusions? Not so sure those would be cause for alarm. Sounds to me like he's just getting beat up in the Euro League a bit, but he needs to toughen his body up thats for sure. His fibula stress fracture may be what needs to get double checked before committing to him long term I would concede that.

Rockets will 'tank' again this year. People need to get over that.

Victor and Scoot are better prospects than any prospects years. People think we're signing a free agent this off-season? Think we are going to even make the playoffs? Let me guess, afraid we going to build a losing culture...

Talent wins in this league over everything. Get talent. Of course, that doesn't mean you throw a bunch of players together and it works 100% of the time. But, we have a higher chance at getting potentially elite talent via draft (28%) than free agency. Even if we get #5 that's likely better than any free agent we get on the upcoming market.

We are in our last year of accumulating high end talent through the draft before we have no other option but to compete via core + trades + free agency. Its not some perpetual thing that we will do forever.

Sac and char are the exact opposite of tanking. They are always trying to make the win now moves to try to get into the playin. If sac actually tanked instead of always going for the quick fix maybe they wouldn’t be garbage

Let's say they have the worst record in the NBA again and get thr #3 pick again. When I looked at the NBA Mock draft they have Nick Henderson pegged for that slot. So, another 6-4 guard. Will he be better than Green or KPJ at the time??? NO.

It's not like we have a say.

Silas does not need to tank to lose.

It's just that worst record does not guarantee #1 pick overall, as we've clearly experienced the last 2 seasons.
