People are just not paying that much attention to the stats of the losing side unless they are hardcore die hards.

Regard or disregard them is up to your personal preference.

This dumbass has to put a dig at PB in a kpj thread smh. Scottie Barnes averaged 10 ppg in college then won rookie of the year. Porter Jr averaged 9.5 ppg in college and put up that 7 game stretch in the nba. PB was a better college player than both.

Barnes would be top 3 in this draft.

Imagine how'd you feel about the guys putting up bad stats on worst team in NBA.

Data is still data no matter how much you disagree with it.

Exactly, so what does it mean for guys who are putting up crap stats on a bad team?

I don’t think so. I think he’s a clear post 3 guy. With hindsight now you’d say top 3 but that’s cheating. We don’t have hindsight.

but I’d be curious if any of the big draft guys (Barlowe types) have discussed.

No hindsight - I said it before last draft, check the archives.

Barnes was in my top 3 and 2nd favorite prospect in 2021 draft.

yeah… we’ll… you’re weird!!!! . Nah you were great last draft. I loved Barnes too…. HOWEVER was put off enough by the off the bench thing to love him down to at least 4th in my head. I was NOT AT ALL surprised when the Raptors took him over Suggs. I’m not opposed to the freshman bench method I just was out off because of Pat Williams just one year prior - it was like didn’t we just see this and he was “ok” his rookie year?

that said, honestly for me, even WITH hindsight, I’d still not put Barnes top 3 this year. Jabari and Chet have similar or better defensive upside and rebounding…. With better potential offensive upside. And Paolo isn’t quite there defensively where Barnes is, but to me is the much better offensive prospect in a similar point forward mold.

WITH hindsight it’s all potential for these 3 vs Barnes’ reality. I still personally can’t say whether Barnes ever takes the leap to “the guy” from the incredibly amazing “glue guy” type he was. It’s still so early so he has plenty of time to grow into it… in a somewhat Kawhi like way. If his shot gets there i don’t see why not I guess. But until it happens it’s still the ultimate Shawn Marion-esque glue guy prototype.

whereas Paolo is not that - either an offensive “THE GUY” type or probably a more average glue guy type. Definitely recognize there’s a greater than 0% ( greater than 10%, 20%… heck maybe 30%) chance it’s the later. BUT Barnes with offensive engine capabilities is Tatum - potential to be even better - that in this case just needs to focus on defense a little more and it’s an all nba player regularly.

ofc… if ACTUALLY presented with the option not sure what I or Stone would do. If Raptors said straight up Barnes for the #3 pick … hard to see how you pass on the sure thing….. hmmmm

I take Barnes over Paolo and have him slightly edging Jabari too.

Barnes is not just longer more athletic switch defender than Jabari but potential DPOY + better playmaker than Paolo.

The Wood trade locks in KPJ, clearly the org liked how KPJ and JGreen finished the season...and are going to build around them and Sengun.

@Codman told us in his leak that KPJ is One of the best player on the roster.

"Green and Big Al are the untouchables, with Tate being right there. KPJ is arguably the best player on the roster, but he needs time to mature psychologically more than anything."

I would agree with this. Jalen probably going to be the better pure scorer but I think KPJ has the most overall talent

    Tate being untouchable is laughy

I think with Wood gone. Rockets will start contract talks with KPJ. I’m here for it. He does better without Wood. His chemistry with Green is great.

Agreed, I think they'd LOVE to move Tate.... but I'm not sure anyone else is high enough on him.

I mean, who really wants a 6'4 PF?
