Pao is the most likely to be a superstar because he checks all the boxes and more. He has iq, unselfishness, 6'10, coachable af, work ethic, great muscle size, handles, a proven winning track record. Chet and Jabari lack half of what I listed.
how many times have we heard this about a player every single year. Yet how many actual superstars are there in the league. Reading all this must mean to everyone he's far away a consensus #1 pick. yet he isn't and Both Chet and Jabari will go before him
He might be undersized compared to some centers but 7’1 wingspan isn’t terrible or even below average for bigs in the league.
Somehow I have a feeling that either Orlando or OKC will surprise everyone by taking Banchero. The draft isn't fun until some team makes a surprise pick that messes up everybody's mock.
First Paolo is Lebron 1.0 now he is Harden level playmaker. Oy vey. Stop with the ridiculous expectations, let him be a secondary playmaker first. Paolo is a very good passer for his size. He is NOT an all time great passer.
Matrix + Webber is interesting and more realistic NBA comp. I can also see similarities with Vlade (Sengun), Peja (Wood) and maybe if you squint real hard, Bobby Jackson (KPJ). But Rockets still need a Bibby, Doug Christie (Eason?), Hedo and white chocolate analogs. At one point or another that Kings team at their peak also had Jim Jackson, Gerald Wallace, Jon Barry, Nick Anderson, Brent Price, Brad Miller, Cat Mobley, Eddie House, Matt Barnes, Bonzi, Artest and ironically enough - Jabari Smith Jr's dad, as a rook. But the really critical missing ingredient is Adelman. Adelman loved bigs that could shoot, and pass. But that Kings team personnel was too paint centric for today's NBA. But i trust Adelman would be able to adjust to modern game.
I could see that as the absolute best outcome for Paolo. But if we’re going off ceilings, I’m taking the KG/KD/Dirk with defense type ceiling of Chet over the Webber/Melo ceiling.
Lebron wasn't an all time great passer when he entered the league.... What Paolo is a if true PF with handles, playmaking ability, and strength. I don't think that's Lebron or Harden but has shades of it. Harden was a tank in his peak and could be argued he was a point wing or even a point forward with how strong he was/ who he was more suited to guard.
