I hope we can move on from Wood this off-season. While he does put up numbers, he’s not the right dude to help develop our young guys and he’d be better served elsewhere as well. I could totally see him doing well on a contender where there is a ton of discipline and accountability. But this young Rockets team is not it for him

Wood is a valuable asset and if coached correctly he can really help, you don't get 20-10 guys that can shoot 38% from the 3pt line often.

so it’s the coaches fault that he doesn’t play defense, shy’s away from contact, doesn’t pass to the open man, and quits on his team?

Truth. Yet, that is why I believe he is an excellent trade prospect. Wood and PB? Nah.

If Ivey is the guy then Wood’s place is stronger.

I'm one of the few here who actually likes Silas .... but when you get right down to it, yes, it is on the coaching staff to hold players accountable for their play and effort level. Thats tough to do on a 20 win team ....

This team has been essentially eliminated from playoff contention (not mathematically) a month into the season in back to back years, its just human nature that the effort level just isn't there on teams like that. Guys are just going thru the motions on most nights.
I'm not diving on the floor for loose balls down 20 or 12 games back of the playoffs .... its not going to inspire anyone else.

Teams like this are very much about the individual players growth / improvement - not so much about "TEAM".

You put Wood in a better situation you have to expect he'd give better effort.

How many centres have had a career night against him honestly?

Apparently the rest of the league doesn't believe this which is why he's on the Rockets on a cheap contract

Agreed, this past season defense by Wood not acceptable.

But his first season defense with Rockets was more palatable.

I do believe a coach like Bzdelik or Nurse would make Wood a better defender.

    Coaches and systems do matter.

If wood is here next season and not packaged in an deal on draft night we riot.

I’d lose all confidence in stone. Wood is not a player you win with nor re-build with for that matter.

People forgot how good we are playing without Wood.

    Just trade Wood please!

    But we still play better.

I am sick tired of those fake screens from Wood.

Plus we don’t need Wood at all.

Jalen Green won’t get his 30+ pts if he playing with Wood.

Wood would demand the ball by his fake screens.

Agree, weird list--highly subjective. I wouldn't put much stock in it, because unlike the draft, if you're trading for someone you're likely targeting a gap/fit player versus BPA (unless you're just trying to rid yourself of someone and want best return you can get).

Hell yes.....because when he does those things you bench him.....and he wasn't the only one......he is a smart guy he knew we were tanking so what does all of that matter?

Great so we sign him to a reasonable contract as an offensive role player.
