I like KJ and he has provided some highlight dunks, but his game is still a work in progress - he still needs to improve in rebounding, defense and shooting percentage to crack the starting rotation.
Tate needs to go he is a luxury we can't afford and don't need. We are building around 2 way players. DD
Martin has the edge on shooting stats, but Tate edges him out in defense, playmaking and intangibles. I would love to start KJ but he hasn't developed into a good wing defender which is what we need.
Martin is much younger as well…. He needs time and his defense (especially the blocks/contests at the rim) is oozing with potential. I would love to draft Eason, though.
I’m that scenario Paolo should play the 4. I’m hoping that Tate and EG are moved so we can start KJ I could easily see Silas starting EG at the 3 again, unfortunately.
Not really, we could draft Paolo + Eason and still keep Martin/Tate Porer / Christopher / Nix Green / Gordon / Mathews Martin / Tate Banchero / Eason Sengun / Garuba / Fernando Move Wood and we are fine, we'd actually still need to sign an additional depth forward. Tate an Martin don't need to play PF, Tate is 6'4, Martin 6'5, we have to move away from ultra-small ball at some point, both are undersized 3's ffs
I like that lineup, but I'm on the fence on who should start at 3 between Tate and KJ - each brings different plusses and minuses. I thought that Eason could play the SF but if he's more suited to PF, then I see your point.
That sounds great but which 2 way players? Based on last year I don't see any on the team. I think we're much earlier in the rebuild than people think. It sounds great to get rid of Mathews and Tate because they're not good enough but it's not like we have dominant talent, size, and defense just waiting for a chance. We need way more talent on this team. Until then we'll continue to have low ceiling role players filling out the roster.
